Solneige is located in the beautiful alpine village of Vaujany, directly connected with the snow secure Alpe d'Huez ski area, which combines the charm of a real mountain village with modern, up-to-date facilities. Staying in one of the most beautiful chalets in Vaujany, you will find all the creature comforts you need to relax, escape and feel cozy after a day of skiing and other winter wonders. Before dinner you can enjoy an aperitif in the ambiance of our vaulted ceiling living room (70m2) in front of the cosy log-fire or have your after ski in the hot-tub. Solneige doesn't get more picturesque than this: sipping champagne in your steamy hot tub, the misty white peaks are your back ground. In the evening we will serve you an unhurried superb culinary dinner partnered with quality (AOC) wines. You can accompany your after dinner coffee with home made or local digestives. Be welcome in our world of ski and enjoy your holiday in laid back luxury, we will take care of the rest!

Normally Saturday-Saturday but we can be flexible so please inform if you want it ohterwise.
Notes on accommodation
Our own on call mini bus shuttle service will bring you up to the village centre or cable car whenever you want in less then 3 minutes. There is also a regular free shuttle bus ( bus stop is next to the chalet). We have a heated ski locker for you in front of the cable car, where you can leave behind all your equipments, safe and warmed. If you come with your own car, there is a free covered parking place just in front of the cable car. In Vaujany there is a very good ( award winning) day nursery , one of the best in the Alpes! Please let us know in advance if you want to use the child facilities so we can make a reservation for you in advance. Also it is necessary to bring the health certificate of your children.
Outside
We have a fantastic hot tub in the garden where you can relax yourself in pleasantly warm water with 65 jet streams. Imagine yourself , surrounded by snow under millions of stars and with a good glass of champagne: what an àpres ski! Also in summer the hot tub is a delight after a long walk or cycle tour in the mountains!
Enjoy the fantastic scenery and quietness in our beautiful garden on one of the comfortable deckchairs, even in winter it is delightful to feel the winter sun on your face.
Skiing
There is alpine skiing from beginners to black slopes, for ski, skwal, telemark or cross-country. Skating and hang-gliding are also possible. If you are an outdoor person and a lover of mountain landscapes, discover another approach to the mountains. Put on your snow shoes and accompany your guide over prepared tracks amidst winter mountain panoramas. You'll discover the wild life, the antilopes and alpine fawn deer. The 'Grandes Rousses' massif, with Alpe d'Huez as its capitole, is a genuine all-round ski resort with excellent nursery slopes, good intermediate runs, long black (difficult) trails and extremely serious off-piste. Vital statistics: 3330m - 1100m pistes giving 2230m of vertical. 119 pistes-245km. 860 Artificial snow cannons ensure you perfect ski conditions for the entire ski season. We will delighted to assist you with many aspects of your holiday: ski passes, booking ski school, hire of skis and boots and on the day, introduce you to the joy of skiing Vaujany!
Travel
Nearest motorway junction: Grenoble at 45km. Cheap flights with Easy-Jet, Ryan Air, British Airways on Grenoble, Lyon, Geneva or Chambery airport. Nearest airports are Grenoble: 70km / 80 min. Lyon 85km / 1.5 hour’s. Transfer can be arranged by Solneige from the airports to our chalet.
Further details
After your skiing expeditions, head for the leisure centre with its 25m swimming pool and its fitness room or the skating rink. Or enjoy a good glass of beer or ‘vin chaud’ in one of the bars and if the sun is still there on a terrace. After dinner you can have a wonderful evening in one of the cosy bars or disco! There are several nice local shops, ski shops and a supermarket. On the weekly staff rest night, we can recommend and book one of the local restaurants.

If you like to make a reservation for our chalet we will send you the booking and payment forms, the access to our chalet and all the information about lessons, lift passes and hire of equipment. If you require transfer we will arrange this for you.
