Chalet Cattin is built from the stones of an old monastery and its thick walls, shutters, open fire and large living space make it a wonderful quiet retreat after a days skiing. Just a stones throw from the shops, main ski lifts, floodlight toboggan run and skate rink it couldn't be better located. Our children go off tobogganing, skating or up to the shops after skiing whilst we recover by the fire! La Clusaz (1200-2600m) won french family ski resort of the year and rightly so as it offers extensive varied skiing from sunny nursery slopes to challenging off piste. La Clusaz itself is a traditional vibrant village with an excellent weekly market. It is renowned, even among non skiers, for its charming mountain restaurants, picturesque alpine views and boutique shopping. Located 70 mins from Geneva airport there are coach transfers, car hire or taxis by arrangement. There is parking if required though once you have arrived at Chalet Cattin you won't need a car.

| Kitchen: | Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, gas oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave. No washing machine, though excellent launderette in village. |

| Living Rooms: | Large cosy sitting room with ample seating, open fire, games, CD player and no TV! Double sofa bed. Through a stone arch is the adjoining dining area (5m x 5m) with table to seat 8, but has additions to seat up to 12. Raclette machine and fondue set. |
| Other: | Hallway with space for coats over radiator for drying. Back door to ski storage, lobby and outside. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and linen can be supplied for a fee. The property must be left clean and tidy, however a cleaner can be arranged for a fee. |

Coast/Beach
Annecy is 20km from La Clusaz and sits on the edge of the beautiful Lake Annecy. Narrow rivers criss cross through this old town making it a magical place to visit for the day. In the summer there are beaches and water sports, in the Winter amazing views! Some wonderful shops and restaurants, well worth a visit if you have the time.
Skiing
La Clusaz village is at 1200m going up to 2600m. There are 55 lifts and 84 pistes ranging from sunny nursery slopes, 26 green runs, 28 blue, 23 red and 7 black. Snowboarding is popular as is ski de fond (cross country). When skiing off piste it is recommended to use a local guide. Lunch on the piste is well served by some fantastic traditional restaurants serving regional food. The Bercaille (half way up Cret du Merle) is well known for its savoyard menu and in the evening you are collected by ski doo and whisked off to the restaurant through the snow. Plenty of Apres ski for adults with numerous bars, restaurants and two clubs. For children there is floodlight tobogganing, ice skating and there is a swimming pool. On the full moon La Clusaz opens up for night skiing. If you want to try more skiing you can get a pass that covers Grand Bornard and Chinion (15mins drive) as well as La Clusaz.
Travel
Geneva Airport is 70 minutes. If driving it takes approx. 8 hours from Calais. Car Hire at Geneva airport (easiest from the Swiss side) not essential due to location of chalet. Taxi can be arranged from the airport. You can take a train from London to Annecy with a regular bus to La Clusaz.
Further details
La Clusaz is an old staging post on the Col des Aravis through which the Tour de France passes in the Summer. It offers a large number of shops including three supermarkets, a weekly market, bank, hardware store, boutiques plenty of restaurants etc. All of which are easily accessible from Chalet Cattin.
