Located in the heart of Burgundy, on the edge of the stunning Morvan National Park. The local historic town of Decize has lots to offer whether you just want to relax by the river or in one of the street cafes, or get active and go canoeing, fishing, swimming, cycling, shopping, boating, etc. Please do not confuse this property with similar but inferior holiday Gites/villas. This is a totally exclusive, private luxury home with 200 square meters of living space, that is being made available for the discerning visitor to Burgundy.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. There will be a £100 discount for two week bookings. Short breaks or long term lets in winter may be considered. Rates to be agreed individually.
Changeover day
Saturday is our preferred changeover day, but subject to other bookings and plenty of notice other days may be accommodated, although an extra charge may be levied if it limits or effects the possibility of other bookings.

Notes on accommodation
Portable air-conditioning units are available at extra cost. The house is very well insulated so is cool in summer and warm in winter.
Accessibility
Sorry, due to the location and design of the property, it is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
Set in almost 2 acres of gardens and adjacent field, there is a lot of space for children to play and explore safely. The full width of the front of the house has a veranda with sofa's, chairs, dining table, etc to relax in the shade on a hot day. The lounge has a small balcony with table and chairs. The private, heated swimming pool is surrounded by terrace and garden. This is an exceptionally well designed house with lots of outside space, quite nooks, sun-bathing and shady spots. A large pool/barbecue house is fully equipped so you can prepare food and eat outdoors at any time. The pool is open and heated from early April until the end of October.
The weather in this part of France is beautiful from April to October and is usually between 5 and 10 degrees warmer than the UK and has much more sunshine. April, May, September and October are especially recommended for those who love warm sunny days and cooler nights.
Coast/Beach
10 minutes drive into Decize where there is a riverside beach, beach-bar, tennis courts and a large outdoor public swimming pool, children's play area, pedal boats, canoes, etc.
Golf
The nearest golf course is 30 minutes drive, there are two others within an hour.
Skiing
The property is just 2.5-3 hours drive from Chamonix and Mont Blanc.
Special interest holidays
Motoring enthusiasts: About 30 mins drive to Magny-Cours which has a full calendar of motoring events. See the official webiste to see what's on when you want to visit. The house has a very large garage big enough for at least two cars and several motorcycles. The driveway is also secure, accessed by electric gates.
For most outdoor activities we are just on the edge of the Morvan National Park which has something for everyone.
Just 30 minutes drive away is the Theme Park and Zoo, Parc Le Pal a great day out or two for all the family.
For cyclists there are several velo-routes in the area.
For Canoeists/Kayaks the river Loire is just on the other side of the village.
For naturists or those wanting an all-over tan, the property is totally private and secluded, surrounded by high trees and secured by electric gates.
Travel
Given it's location we strongly recommend that you have your own car.
Getting there by road: Le Havre Ferry Port 5 hrs (462km) or Calais Ferry Port and Channel Tunnel 6 hrs (574km).
By rail: TGV at Nevers, SNCF at Decize.
By air: Dijon 2 hrs, Lyon 2.5 hrs, Paris 3 hrs.
Distances
The house is located on the edge of the very pretty village of Charrin where there is a very friendly bar/tabac/shop with limited provisions where you can order bread to collect daily, there is also a post office. The town of Decize is 10 minutes drive away with shops, bars, restaurants, boutiques, supermarkets, banks, tourist information, etc.
Further details
On the road between Charrin and Decize there are two superb restaurants, plus many more in Decize itself. Burgundy is renowned as the gastronomic region of France where eating out is not expensive but is always superb. The region is also known for its excellent wines and there are several places where you can visit vineyards and sample the wares. Later this year we hope to offer our guests wine tours, visiting some of the best vineyards in the region.
Booking notes
25% of rental fee to be paid upon booking the property. We will accept payment by bank transfer or personal cheque. Balance is due 8 weeks before arrival. A refundable breakages deposit will be payable with the balance, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure, (subject to satisfactory inspection).

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We saw and fell in love with our place in Charrin when we stopped off to visit some friends who lived in Fours, not far away. We were on honeymoon at the time and when chatting to our friends told them how much we loved the region. We had travelled right through France and we thought Burgundy was by far the prettiest part we had seen. They took us for a drive around and, as you do, we picked up a property paper. We looked at a couple of places that were not right for us. We decided that we had wasted enough of our honeymoon and were just about to leave when we saw 6 L'Oseraie in an estate agents window. The next day we were off to see it and the roller-coaster was off! It has taken us 18 months of trips over the channel to do all the hard work, but now it is really beautiful.
Unique benefits of the property
The main draw of the house is the swimming pool which is open and heated from beginning of April to end of October when the weather in Burgundy is fabulous. When we were there in May this year temperatures were in the high 80's. The pool terrace is in full sun all day long.
However, we love being there in the winter. The house is very warm and just a great place to relax in the peace and quiet.
The other big draw of our house is the privacy. It is surrounded by tall trees and accessed by large electric gates, so you know you wont be disturbed.
The terrace/veranda means you can sit out and enjoy the outdoors even when it is raining or too hot to sit in the sun. It is a great house for groups because there are lots of places to get away from each other if you want to.
