Large beautiful French stone walled house with private secluded gardens and new, below ground, heated swimming pool that provides a constant tempreture. The house is in La Rousselliere near Vouvant, Bazges en Pareds in the Vendee. Sleeps 6-8 comfortably in 4 bedrooms to include a mezzanine. A cot and extra beds can be provided. 5 minutes from La Caillere with its bank, post office, baker, butcher, pharmacy, Spar shop, bar and restaurant. 15-20 minutes from La Chataigeneraie and Chantonnay with large supermarkets. La Rochelle and its local beaches 60-90 minutes away as is the airport. There are other airports at Nantes and Poitiers. Payment by Paypal + Pay-pal charges accepted.

Notes on prices
Prices are for 2011 and will be reviewed again in the new year. All bookings taken now for 2012 are based on 2011 prices.
Prices from 4th June to 24th Sept include a heated pool.
Prices go up £100 during school half term holidays.
Prices are for 2 to 8 people in the property a week in UK pounds. £50 for each extra person. Winter lets possible. Price on asking. Pool can be heated through out the year as shown in rental prices. Pay-pal to include charges taken.

Changeover day
Normally Saturday to Saturday, however outside of peak season this may be negotiated with the owners. Part weeks and long weekends will also be considered. The property must be vacated by 10am and will be available by 4pm.

Bathrooms: Family bathroom upstairs with bath, bidet,WC and wash basin. Heated towel rail.
Downstairs shower room with WC and wash basin. Heated towel rail.
Kitchen: Cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and bread maker/toaster. Welcome pack!
Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, large American fridge/freezer with ice-maker.
Living Rooms: Beautiful old oak floor boards and a beamed ceiling with log burner, occasional tables and two comfy sofas. TV, Sky digi box,(bring your own card) DVD player and numerous DVD's, Hi Fi and games cupboard.
Other: Dinning area. Lots of character with a terracotta tiled floor, beams and a wood burner. Large pine table that seats 10.Welsh dresser.

linen/maid service:
Cleaner every changeover. Towels and linen provided but not beach towels for pool use. Linen can be provided for 2nd week. The house is cleaned before your arrival and we only ask that you leave it in a tidy and presentable condition.

Notes on accommodation
Accommodation is flexible and more beds and cots could be provided in family rooms. Well behaved pets are welcome but advise at booking. There is background heating and two very efficient log burners with wood provided.

Accessibility
The owner is disabled and some provisions have been made to aid mobility. Hand rails and a shower seat. There will also eventually be an additional downstairs bedroom.

Outside
Outside there is a very large private secluded garden with newly built private heated, below ground, swimming pool for sole use by the guests. A large patio that provides a sun terrace, eating area and BBQ. There is also a hammock and badminton net, also sun loungers. Vast areas of lawn. Fruit trees.

Coast/Beach
Approximately 45 mins drive away are the beautiful sandy beaches of the Vendee coast. You will find these beaches in the villages of La Tranche-sur-Mer, La Faute-Sur-Mer and L'Aiguillon-Sur-Mer.

Travel
Ferry: Travelling via ferry, to the Ports of St Malo, Caen, Cherbourg, Roscoff and Le Havre you can expect a drive of between 3-5 hours. Airports: If preferred you can fly into the airports of La Rochelle, Poitiers or Nantes which are all around 1 hour's drive away. Use of a car is essential.

Distances
Vouvant (8km) a picturesque medieval village with bars and restaurants. La Chataigneraie (10km) is a large town with two supermarkets and all amenities. Fontenay-le-Comte (20km) a larger town with large supermarket and various shopping outlets, also with a Saturday morning market.

Further details
The South Vendee offers beaches, picturesque farmland and the forest of Mervent. The region has hundreds of kilometres of well sign posted paths for horse-riding, walking or cycling. The rivers and lakes offer fishing. Many restaurants can offer local wine and traditional Vendeen cuisine. Some summer markets held, display local produce and crafts for sale. If you enjoy shopping then a visit to Nantes or La Rochelle will be a pleasure. A little closer to home is La Roche-Sur -Yon which boasts an indoor shopping mall and a huge Carrefour supermarket. There are many places to visit for a day out, These include Puy de Fou and Futuroscope which are two excellent unique theme parks.Also, Mervent forest, Mervent Zoo, Ile de Re, La Rochelle aquarium, children’s adventure parks. The coast has many towns and villages worth a visit, such as Les Sables - D'Olonne and the islands of Nourmoutier and Il de Re. Inland you can visit Cognac and the Loire Valley. There are many local restaurants in the area and details are available at the house.

Booking notes
25% deposit taken on booking per week. Full payment 4 weeks before arrival. Security deposit of £200 payable by cheque, which is returned by post, to be paid at the same time as the outstanding balance. Deposit returned within 2 weeks following departure. Guest comments
2009 guest book is full of positive comments that can be viewed on our web page. Pictures are out of date and there are now new windows and doors and a large patio surrounding the pool and at the back of the house. On more than one occasion we have been told that the house and setting is better than expected. Lovely.

House swap
Interested in anywhere that is hot and reasonably near an airport. Must have a swimming pool. Any country considered but not England.

About the owner
We have owned our French House for four years.During that time we have added a swimming pool and developed the Forge. In 2009 we began letting the house as a summer holiday home during the summer months. We have enjoyed a very successful year and plan to add heating to the pool and fence off the garden so it is totally private in 2010.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We chose this area because we wanted a hot summer but not the intense heat found in the south of France. The area is very picturesque and in the French countryside. Not too far from the popular beaches where it is very touresty. We enjoy the peace and privacy when staying in our French House.

Unique benefits of the property
We particularly look forward to some real French food in the local restaurants. Also, swimming daily in the pool.
