Built as the original home of the Maçon entrepreneur at Port Vendres, the large house is located right adjacent to the historic harbour, but in a calm tranquil street. Our apartment within, has been completely reconstructed and offers new facilities whilst conserving exposed original feature stonework, redwood beams.Benefits from a private planted courtyard with table 8chairs BBQ, spacious garage, Laundry, tablefootball /tennis. A lovely wooden staircase leads you to the first large bedroom and en-suite and then up to the main floor with the 3 remaining bedrooms (all en-suites) fitted kitchen with all new appliances, dining area for 8 people, and large airy lounge with 2 sofas and armchairs for 8. TV, DVD. The Port is a natural deep water harbour, entrance sheltered by the sloping hillsides of the Pyrenees with their terraced vineyards. A really beautiful setting. The coastline is truly magnificent, with long sandy beaches close by and little sheltered coves along the edge of the port.

We do weekend breaks bookings in the late autumn and early spring season. Please contact us as well for bookings over Christmas and New Year.

Changeover day
Rental is normally weekly, Saturday arrival commencing at 4.00 pm and vacating on following Saturday at 10am. These times are guidelines and can be discussed

Bathrooms: The en-suite shower rooms are all brand new, with new showers installed in each, and new washbasin units with useful storage cupboards and mirrors. They each have a toilet installed. A cot can be provided, please ask.
Kitchen: Cooker, electric hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, coffeemaker, dishwasher.
Utility Room: Washing machine, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment.
Living Rooms: Luminous salon area, feature stonewall and beams, 3 large windows, 1 sofa and 1 sofa bed, armchairs, TV, video, DVD, satellite TV with very good choice of channels, dining area with table for 8. Air conditioning. Sunny all afternoon.
Other: The layout of the apartment and excellent provision of facilities throughout the four bedrooms, make it especially flexible and suitable for family groups and friends reuniting for a holiday together. Large table tennis table and new table football

Notes on accommodation
The apartment has reversible air-conditioning / heating, so suitable for year round location. Also electric panel heaters in bedrooms. Families with small children have enjoyed the large first bedroom where parents and children have plenty of room and can use the ' Friends bed ' which is also provided for the children .

Accessibility
The duplex apartment is on 2 levels with internal stairs so it resembles a house.

Outside
The secluded private walled courtyard is planted with colourful Mediterranean shrubs and climbers and is sunny from 10.00 onwards. An attractive shady area has been created for summer use. Wonderful for exterior living, eating breakfast outside or a warm summer evening BBQ. Table and seating for 8 / 10.The courtyard is not shared , for your use exclusively .

Coast/Beach
This is a coastal venue. The port and marina are surrounded by little beaches called Les Anses. The closest, Anse des Tamarins and Anse Bear, can be reached on foot on the way to visit the Jetty and lighthouse which guard the port. Other wonderful beaches can be reached by car within 10 minutes, following the coast in both directions, towards Collioure, le Racou and Argeles or at Paulliles going towards Banyuls and Spain.

Travel
Perpignan about 40 mins or Girona ( Spain) about 80 mins, or Barcelona . Low cost flights available with Ryanair and Easy jet .

Collioure is 2km away, Perpignan 25km, Spanish border 15km.

Further details
We are round the corner from local bakery, greengrocer and grocers, as well as the renowned Fish Market. You can also buy fresh fish daily from the quayside. This area where the Pyrenees meets the sea is wonderful for walking, very scenic walks along coastal paths between Port Vendres and both Collioure and Banyuls, as well as in the Alberes, up to the prominent historic forts and towers through the protected areas of beauty and natural interest. The panoramic scenery is also a must for cyclists. We can arrange cycle hire and delivery to the apartment. Swimming, diving, canoeing, sea kayak, all watersports are available, as well as fishing, sea fishing and deep sea diving. A very popular golf course is available at St Cyprien. Lovers of good wines and delicious Catalan dishes will revel in the choice of celebrated vineyards surrounding the area, and will be warmly welcomed at the excellent selection of good restaurants along the quaysides. Remember that freshly caught fish and sea food is the speciality of this historic port.

Booking notes
Deposit of 25% as reservation with booking. Balance payable 4 weeks before arrival. Security deposit of £250 held during your stay and fully refunded with 7 days as long as cleaning of the apartment is done and there is no damage. 10% reduction for second consecutive week stay.
