A Bellendane is a medieval farmhouse set below the Château with over 7 acres of grounds The village of Berbiguieres nestles around the 14th Century Château. It has no shops, bars, or restaurants but all are available a short drive away in Saint Cyprien. The village is ideally situated for visiting the many ancient sites, chateaux and vineyards for which the region is famous.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday.
Lettings are from 4pm on the day of arrival to no later than 10am on the day of departure. If you wish to arrive outside these hours please advise us in advance.

Outside
La Grange has its own private terrace with flower beds - garden furniture and BBQ are provided. Guests have the use of our private 8x4m unheated pool, as well as the orchard and all of our ground.
Coast/Beach
Guests can access the clear shallow waters of the Dordogne river just a 30 minute walk along the quiet road passing the property; where they will probably be the only people. Only 5 minutes drive away there are canoes and kayaks available for hire for short trips or day-long excursions along either of the two rivers, Dordogne or Vezere, where you can admire the fabulous châteaux and wonderful scenery as you paddle gently with the current.

Two golf courses are within 5 km of our property one being an 18 hole course and the other 9 holes.

Nearest airport is Bergerac - 40 km
Nearest mainline station is Souillac - 50 km
Nearest channel port is St Malo - 350 km
A car is essential.
Distances
The nearest place for shopping is St Cyprien at 4 km. In the opposite direction Siorac is also 4 km.
Amongst the major towns Sarlat is 25 km, Bergerac 40 km and Perigueux 50 km. The châteaux of Beynac, Castlenaud and Milandes are within 10 km, while Les Eyzies and its caves is the same distance away.

Booking notes
A deposit of 50% is required to confirm the booking, the balance being due 8 weeks in advance of your holiday. If you are booking within 8 weeks of your holiday we will require full payment.
A refundable security deposit of £100 is payable with the balance payment. This is to cover any damage, breakages or unpaid local bills and will be returned to you on your return home provided all is in order.

About the owner
Graeme fell in love with the Dordogne when he made a solo visit here 20 years ago following the early death of his first wife. Having met and married Phyl in 1997, and after several holidays in the area, he managed to persuade her to move out here. In the 10 years we have lived here we have really enjoyed all our guests, many of whom have become friends, and return frequently. We always look forward to meeting our new guests and making sure that their stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible in the hope that they too may return.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought this property in August 2000 as a retirement project to give us some income to support their pensions. At the time that we purchased it the grounds were like a jungle and it took us two years to knock it in to shape. The house itself didn't need much doing to it in the beginning except for a new kitchen. Since then we have re-roofed both the house and the cottage, but the rest are still in good order. Since then we have enjoyed the quality of life out here and particularly our village which is so peaceful and quiet, an aspect much enjoyed by our visitors.
Unique benefits of the property
Berbiguieres lies right in the middle of the Perigord Noir which makes anywhere in the department easily accessible. Although the village itself has no shopping facilities, we are very well served by the shops in St Cyprien and Siorac, certainly for everyday needs and being only 40km from Bergerac and Perigueux means that even shopaholics don't have to go far afield.
