Our Beautiful Old Farmhouse is just 5 minutes away from the friendly town of Brecey. It lies an hour`s car drive from the ferry port of Caen. It is within easy reach of some fine beaches and there are some wonderful walks and cycling routes in the immediate vicinity. The house is set in 1/4 acre of farmland which includes an apple orchard, perfect for sitting under in the summer with a glass of wine listening to the peace and quiet of rural life. The house is set in a very friendly hamlet, our neighbours may well offer you produce such as eggs or fruit from their smallholdings. In the evenings you`re likely to spot an owl or maybe a hare in the neighbouring field. It is being back to basics with all the luxuries of a renovated farmhouse. There will be a supply of beer and wine to which you may help yourself and replace at the end of your stay.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday but please ask if this is not conveniant. The house is available from 4pm on the day of arrival and we ask guests to vacate the house by 10am although this can be flexible with prior arrangement.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with two single beds with wooden floorboards and exposed beams. Bedroom 2 - with iron double bed again with wooden floorboards and exposed beams. Bedroom 3 - the whole of the second floor, with a hand-painted kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom. |
| Bathrooms: | 1st floor -Large shower room and hand basin -Separate toilet and hand basin 2nd floor -Ensuite bathroom with full sized bath, toilet and hand basin. |
| Kitchen: | Traditional french style kitchen area, fully equipped with good quality crockery, cutlery, glasses and pans etc. There is a fridge with freezer compartment, oven and hob, washing machine and microwave. The back door opens out onto the apple orchard. |
| Living Rooms: | Enter through the stable door straight into the spacious living room, where you will find a traditional granite fireplace with a large wood burning stove. Large comfy sofa and chairs, table/chairs to seat 6/8. TV (French channels), DVD/Video, CD/radio. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Linen and towels are not included in the price, all beds have duvets and pillows. Alternatively, beds can be fully made up with our linen for an extra charge. |
Notes on accommodation
Our farmhouse has been renovated to a high standard by local artisans who have maintained the character and charm whilst providing all the modern comforts including excellent insulation and heating, making it ideal as a winter break as well as for summer holidays.
Outside
The house is set in 1/4 acre of farmland and there is plenty of room for children to play and run around. A barbeque and outdoor table and chairs with parasol are provided.
Coast/Beach
There are many fine beaches within a 25 minute drive. Les Carolles, Jullouville and St Jean-Le-Thomas are amoung our favourites. The fishing port of Granville can be found further up the coast with its many quayside restaurants.
Travel
Brecey is just over an hour's drive from the ferry port of Caen and one and a half hours from Cherbourg.
Distances
Brecey is 5 minutes drive from the house. There is a local market every Friday morning, although a bigger market is in the neighbouring town of Villedieu-les-Poeles every Tuesday. Brecey has two small supermarkets, patisseries, boulangeries and charcuteries. There is a boating/fishing lake and outdoor pool which is a 25 minute walk from the house. Le Mont-St-Michel is just 40 minute's drive. The D-Day beaches are one and a half hours drive away. Paris is an easy 2 hour train ride.

Bookings can be made by telephone or by e-mail. A 20% non- refundable deposit is payable on booking and the balance (plus a £100 refundable cheque againest breakages) is due 6 weeks before the holiday commences.
