The main downstairs living accommodation consists of a 40ft converted barn, with living and dining space as well as a recently renovated open plan modern kitchen. Two sets of double doors open up onto a sunny terrace and enclosed garden which captures the sun all day, perfect for relaxing and outside dining. The large sitting/living room leads to a further downstairs reception space, with an additional living area (with sofa bed) and staircase leading to a large mezzanine/gallery space and 2 double bedroom. The main family bathroom has been completely refurbished to a high standard with modern fittings. There is a further twin bedroom on the ground floor. The whole area is wonderful for outdoor activities including canoeing, swimming, cycling and walking, and visits to local towns and markets.

Changeover day
Saturday during peak season, flexible for rest of year. Arrival time from 4pm and departure by 10am.

Notes on accommodation
We welcome children, it is a safe environment with very few cars in the hamlet, the back garden is completely enclosed. Cot can be provided (cot linen not provided). Non smoking policy in house.
Accessibility
The property is not suitable for people with mobility problems, as there are stone steps from the parking area to the front door.
Outside
The pretty courtyard garden provides an opportunity to relax, BBQ, eat and enjoy the Dordogne sunshine. The patio area is equipped with garden furniture, including loungers and has a vine-covered pergola with walnut and fig trees in season.
Coast/Beach
At Arcachon on the coast, about 2 hours away, is the Dune du Pyla, the highest sand dune in Europe. The beach at Royan is approximately 80 minutes drive.
There are several river and lake beaches nearby, including, Aubeterre sur Dronne (about 15 minutes drive) - river beach, bar, restaurant, plus canoeing and kayaking. La Jemaye. The Grand Etang, large lake with sandy beach with pedalos, canoes, snack bars, Life guards on duty in high season - beautiful location for a swim and picnic.
Golf
Golf course at Longeveau (9 hole), good facilities including tennis courts, bar and restaurant. Perigueux 18 hole course.
Travel
La Lande is situated in the West of the Dordogne in Perigord Vert. Approx 60 mins from Bergerac airport and 90 mins from Bordeaux airport, served by Easyjet and Ryanair. 50 minutes from Angouleme airport and train station with TGV and Eurostar connections. 2 hours from Poitiers airport and Limoges airport. Driving time from channel ports at Calais is approx 7-8 hours with good motorway links. A car is essential for exploring the area.
Distances
2 mins from St Paul Lizonne (restaurants), less than 10 mins from St Severin (boulangerie, weekly market, post office, bank, small supermarket, butchers). The market town of Riberac is approx 20 mins away with supermarkets, banks, boulangerie, restaurants, open air market, tennis courts, outdoor swimming pool.
The beautiful fortified town of Auberterre is approx 15 mins - restaurants, river beach, canoeing, potteries, underground church, weekend market.
Further details
This area of the Dordogne is perfect for many outdoor activities to suit all ages. These include canoeing, kayaking, fishing, cycling, golf, cycling, horse-riding, tennis, walking, visiting local markets and towns, wine tours and tasting, crazy golf, swimming (many river and lake beaches as well as local outdoor pools). The local markets are a must, the biggest in the area is in Riberac (Friday) with many local producers selling the specialities of the area, including Pineau (the local aperitif) and very good quality meat, fruit and veg.

£50 cleaning charge at end of stay. 20% non-refundable deposit secures booking. Full payment required eight weeks before booking commences. £100 security deposit required.
Cancellation charges - up to eight weeks no charge, 4-8 weeks 50% refunded, 2-4 weeks 25% refunded, less than 2 weeks no refund.
