Neuvic is 2km away and boasts a large beautiful lake which, during the summer, is home to a variety of watersports including sailing, water skiing and fishing. The town offers a small supermarket and a variety of shops as well as a nine hole golf course, horse-riding facilities and three excellent restaurants, two of which are located on the edge of the lake. There is adequate shopping available in Neuvic and Ussel is twenty minutes by car for large shops. There are five of the 'most beautiful villages of France' an hour drive away (three are clustered together) and the beautiful river towns of Argentat and Beaulieau sur Dordogne are less than an hour by car. The Auvergne volcanic mountains are within easy reach in a day for mountain walks and spectacular scenery. Sarlat in the Dordogne is a two hour drive. Notes on accommodation
House is 3 bedrooms (sleeps 6) plus a separate gîte which sleeps 2 (which is never let separately) but only unlocked for parties of 7-8. Large barn in the grounds, upstairs made into a fantastic games room and downstairs not for client’s use.

Outside
Private pool 8 x 4 x 1.4m depth with security system cover, and usual sun loungers, parasol, chairs, etc. BBQ area for outside dining. Large barn in the grounds, not for client’s use. Ample on-site parking and access to beautiful walks on your doorstep. 8 hectares of own fields, woods, streams and ponds, with more forests nearby. The property is located right in the middle of the land and is therefore incredibly quiet and peaceful. Great walks right at your doorstep. We cannot emphasize enough the peace and tranquility of this property.
Coast/Beach
Large lake with 'Blue Flag' beach about 3-4km from the house. Swimming, sailing school, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing etc all available in summer.
Golf
9 hole international level course, and a 9-hole pitch and put course both in Neuvic, overlooking the lake. About 3-4km from house.
Skiing
Skiing in the Massif Central is approximately one hour by car. Water skiing available on the lake during tourist season.
Special interest holidays
Cookery courses are available in the brand new kitchen of the barn from a local French woman. Courses designed to your needs - children only, adults only or families.

We have been coming to France for thirty years and this is certainly the best house we have ever stayed in. Of the many similar properties we have stayed in yours ranks first for luxury and comfort. The grounds and location are right up there with the best. The grounds are spectacular as is the decor inside. A special mention about the gite - what a delightful place. And you have the most wonderful beds we have ever slept in. House and gite excellent in all ways inside and out, well equipped and with the most beautiful surrounds. Your house is so well equipped and the grounds are so lovely that we had to "force" ourselves to go out and explore the surrounding area.
We had the most fantastic week. This house is perfect - the kitchen has everything and the beds so comfy we hardly wanted to get up and out in the morning. Two weeks of staying in the most peaceful villa possible. No noise but birdsong heaven. The house, grounds and games room proved to be as good in reality as describe

We wanted to buy a place in France, and started house hunting in the South West. Moving away from areas that were too full of British residents, we found Limousin, a beautiful peaceful rural area that is largely undiscovered.

Our main reason for buying this particular house is that it is completely surrounded by its own land, with its own drive, giving a lovely feeling of seclusion (and avoiding any road noise) yet close to a nice town...
Thw "wow" factor of giant oak beams in the living room and a gorgeous inglenook fireplace helped too!
