The property was built in 2007 and is tastefully decorated to a modern, contemporary design. All appliances are available. Cooker with full size oven, microwave, kettle, fridge, washing machine. Flat screen TV, DVD player (also for CDs) the apartment is also well equipped with a wide range of games, DVDs CDs and books for all ages and a variety of tastes. The port is only a short walk or drive away and provides a perfect setting for family break or is an ideal getaway for couples seeking some relaxation and good food! Bayeux is only 8kms away and and the world famous Omaha Beach is only 8 minutes drive. The huge expanse of soft sand is world famous for the D Day landings but these days families use the vast open space for all sorts of fun. if it's sun bathing, paddling, wind surfing, playing football or flying a kite it's all welcome on this world famous beach. Bayeux hosts a great market and lots of boutique shops and restaurants.

Accessibility
Not suitable for disables access. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor with stairs access.

Outside
Balcony is provided, perfect for enjoying a drink in the evening. Not suitable for a BBQ.

Coast/Beach
Coast is 800m to the port/harbour area. Main beach is Omaha or Arromanches and are approx 10kms.

Golf
The apartment is directly adjacent to the Omaha beach Golf Club. An mature and well kept course offering 2 18 hole courses directly overlooking the ocean.

Special interest holidays
The area is famous not only for the Bayeux tapestry and D Day landings, but also Calvados, Camembert and other culinary delights. Horse riding, walking and cycling are also very popular in the area.

We have taken several bookings from cyclists who enjoy the many cycle paths in the area - a cycle map is provided and there is a secure lobby area where cycles can be parked and locked when not in use.

Travel
50 minutes from Cherbourg, 30 minutes from Caen ferry ports. 3.5 hours from Calais channel tunnel. Car is essential to take full advantage of the area.

Distances
800metres to port centre. 1.5 hours to Mont St Michel. 10 minutes Bayeux.
25 mins Caen. 50 mins Cherbourg

Further details
A wide range of restaurants available in the area, the port has a number of fish restaurants and there is a local Chateux offering fine dining.

Full payment must be received in 21 days prior to arrival. A deposit of £150 is required with all bookings to confirm the booking. A refundable breakage bond of £150 is required. Breakage bond refunds will be made within 7 days of departure, subject to satisfactory inspection of the property. Payment can be made in cash, cheque, Pay pal or electronic bank transfer.

About the owner
We are a mid 40's couple with one young daughter who enjoy visiting France and the whole Normandy area, so much so we bought a place there! The apartment we have is very comfortable and family based but isn't a crèche! It has a lovely modern, clean feel and we hope you will enjoy your stay, we want our guests to relax and enjoy the Normandy experience. We spend lots of time in the area so have gathered lots of information, plenty of which is in the apartment to help our guests decide on where they would like to best spend their time. We are always willing to talk to our guests prior to booking and would welcome enquiries by telephone.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Ideal location central to the historic landing beaches, but not entirely dominated by the D-Day landings, it never feels too far from any of the main attractions in Normandy. The quiet residential area is perfect to enhance the relaxing experience.

Unique benefits of the property
Our apartment comfortably sleeps up to 6 people, so often we have several generations of the same family on holiday together, or maybe 2 families holidaying together - the flexibility of the accommodation and the space means this makes the apartment a very cost-effective way to accommodate a larger party of people. However, if it's just a few people the space of the apartment means it feels very comfortable and frankly "large" compared to other holiday rentals - a real home-from-home feel rather than the usual cramped spaces sometimes associated with holiday lets.
