La Rivolte is a beautiful 19th century villa in Grasse, the world capital of perfume, set in 2 hectares of Mediterranean gardens with a jade green heated pool and stunning sea views over the Bay of Cannes. The villa is available to rent as a whole during the summer months, sleeping a maximum of 16 and is also available as a Bed & Breakfast from Septemer to May each year. There are 8 Provençal bedrooms, 2 living rooms - the first with Satellite TV, piano, X-Box, DVD/VCR and a large selection of films and the 2nd a library. There is a large kitchen/dining room with open fireplace. In front of the villa is a vast terrace with tables and chairs for guests to enjoy the spectacular view. There is a boules court, ping pong table and BBQ. There are many activities in the area including golf, paragliding, hiking, sailing and creating perfume. La Rivolte is an ideal base from which to explore the Côte d'Azur. Nice, Cannes, St. Tropez and Monaco are all just a short drive away.

Changeover day for rentals is Saturday. Arrival from 4p.m. Departure before 10a.m.

4 double bedrooms. Master bedroom (Jasmin) is a large bedroom with wrought iron sofa and large bathroom. Private balcony with sea views. All double rooms have a large size bed (200cm x 160 cm). 4 twin bedrooms with 2 single beds in each room. All 7 bedrooms in the house have sea views and views of the old town. The 8th bedroom, Herb Cottage, is an annex in the garden - double room with shower ensuite and private garden area. Bed & Breakfast rates are per room per night and include continental breakfast which is either served in the large kitchen or on the terrace. Tea and coffee making facilities in all rooms. Minimum 2 night reservations. |

Notes on accommodation
The property is suitable for children. This summer, we are exceptionally offering B&B from 14 July 2007 for one week and again from 18 August 2007 for one week.
Please note that the manager lives on site in one wing of the villa with separate access. She is there for your arrival and for anything you may need during your stay (local advice, restaurant recommendations, etc.) but obviously respects your privacy and you have the run of the villa, grounds and sole use of the pool.
Outside
There are large park-like terraced gardens surrounding the villa with many palms, pines and fruit trees. There is a large barbecue, many large tables and chairs. The jade green swimming pool (12.5m x 6m) is heated from April to October, but can possibly be heated during the winter for a supplement. There is also a sauna next to the pool house. There are 10 wooden sunbeds surrounding the pool and a pergola for shade. Panoramic views over the bay and the old town of Grasse can be enjoyed from most areas of the garden and from the house.
Coast/Beach
The closest beach is Cannes, 15 km away, about a 20 minute drive. There is a large choice of beaches along the Riviera from Menton, just before the border with Italy, right along to St. Tropez. Menton is an hour's drive away and St. Tropez is an hour and a half by car. The beaches of Theoule sur Mer along the Cap de l'Esterel are half an hour away. There is also the beautiful Lac St. Cassien, half an hour away by car, where there are many beaches and it is very pleasant for swimming.
Golf
There are many golf courses within a short distance of the villa. Grasse Country Club is the closest, only a 5 minute drive away. There is also St. Donat, Cannes-Mandelieu, Mougins and the Grande Bastide all within 20 minutes.
Skiing
The small ski resort of Gréolières-les-Neiges is just a 40 minute drive away. The larger resorts of Isola 2000, Val d'Allos, Valberg and Auron are approximately 1.30 to 2 hours' drive away.
Special interest holidays
The villa has also been rented by art clubs, companies for group activity/team building weeks and also for musical seminars.
Travel
The closest airport is Nice Cote d'Azur International Airport. Easyjet, British Airways and British Midland fly from various UK airports to Nice. Car hire is available at the airport and is recommended when staying at La Rivolte in order to be able to visit the many hilltop villages in the surrounding area.
Distances
The centre of the medieval town of Grasse is just a 5 minute walk from the villa - here you will find all the local amenities such as the supermarket, bakers, butchers, restaurants, flower market, etc. There are 3 famous perfumeries in the town of Grasse which can be visited and you can even create your own perfume. The hilltop villages of Mougins, Gourdon and Cabris are all a 20 minute drive away.
Further details
Grasse is famous for its perfume industry and there are 3 large perfumeries: Fragonard, Galimard and Molinard which can be visited. The perfumeries also offer 2 hour workshops where you can create your own perfume.
We can also offer massage and reflexology at La Rivolte - other services in the comfort of the villa include manicures/pedicures and Indian head massage.
Booking notes
Rental bookings - 25% deposit required to confirm reservation and balance payable 1 month prior to rental. 20% damage deposit required upon arrival. For Bed & Breakfast, a 25% deposit is required to confirm reservation and the balance is payable upon departure.
