Comfortable and convivial stone house with arched windows and huge beams forming part of an ensemble of manor house and its former farm. Peaceful and invisible to the outside world, the property is set in an acre of mature gardens blending into the surrounding countryside with south-facing patio, lawns and fruit trees. 15 minutes from vast sandy beaches, and within an hour of Cherbourg, Caen, the D-Day beaches and Mont St Michel.

Other: Landing forming a children's corner with TV/DVD, games and books. All the bedrooms are prettily decorated with lovely views and upstairs has parquet floors throughout.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bed linen and towels may be rented. Bath mats/tea towels are provided. Linen changes according to guests' requirements. House is cleaned after each visit and guests are asked to leave the house as they find it. Additional cleaning 30 euros for 2 hours.

Notes on accommodation
The house has top-of-the-range electric radiators with remote controls, excellent insulation and double-glazing throughout and is designed for year-round comfort.
Safe for children with plenty of room for games outside as well as the upstairs play area. The (bilingual) owner's house adjoins the property, with the two parts separated by a large barn.

Accessibility
The property has been specially designed for people with reduced mobility. The ground floor complies with official French disability norms (bedroom, fully equipped bathroom, turning spaces, door widths, switches and sockets, access to patios etc) and the staircase is shallow and comfortable. A wheelchair is available if required.

Outside
Huge south-and west facing patio adjoining the house with table, chairs and parasol, barbecue and deck-chairs. Private garden, bordered by apple trees, climbing plants and hedges. Children are welcome to use the communal parts of the garden which have large lawns suitable for games. Guests are welcome to walk in the adjoining fields and admire the neighbour's Charolais cows and calves, and there are pleasant rural walks direct from the house (including a semi-private track which leads to the supermarket!).

Coast/Beach
Nearest beach (Portbail) is 13km / 15 minutes the West Cotentin coastline is magnificent, with miles of huge, completely unspoilt sandy beaches punctuated by cliffs and headlands going towards the north of the peninsula. There is a beautiful coastal path with glorious views.

Golf
St Georges de la Rivière (20km), near Barneville-Carteret, is a links course.

Travel
Cherbourg ferry terminal 45 mins drive / 38km. Caen and Ouistreham ferry terminal and Caen airport 1½ hour drive / 120km. Cherbourg/Maupertus airport 45 mins drive / 50km. Use of a car essential.

Distances
St Sauveur le Vicomte: 5 minutes drive to the centre of the village (banks, bakers, post office, supermarket, restaurants/cafés, château, tourist office, small market and all basic facilities). The supermarket can be reached via the semi-private track leading from the property and is less than 10 minutes' walk.

Bricquebec (12km) has a larger supermarket and market, as does Valognes (15km) and Cherbourg (40km) has hypermarkets and all services.

Further details
St Sauveur is well placed for exploring the whole region. The Normandy Landings beaches and museums are within an hour's drive, as are Bayeux (tapestry) and Caen. Mont St Michel is a 90 minute drive. St Sauveur is on the edge of the Marshes of the Bessin and Cotentin, famous for migratory birds. Canoeing and boat trips are available in the summer.

25% deposit is payable on booking with the balance payable at lest 10 days before arrival. Returnable deposit against damage of 250 euros payable on arrival.
