Notes on accommodation
If you have never seen the Christmas lights in Normandy your in for a rare treat. They start at the end of November and finish mid January. At new year there is a fantastic firework display, done to music, at Domfront by the castle ruins. After which you can have a glass of mulled wine to celebrate the start of 2009!

This spacious and bright apartment is located at the end of a traditional French long house. French doors lead onto a balcony with table, chairs and electric bbq, overlooking orchards and fields.

Outside
The hot tub is indoors overlooking private gardens and can be used any time, no matter what the weather. The garden has an assortment of table, chairs etc; with a coal BBQ. There is a large private car park.

Coast/Beach
The natural, unspoilt beaches at Granville and Carolles are a must to visit at anytime of year.


Golf
There are 2 golf courses at Bagnoles de Lorne, 15 mins away, an 18 hole and 9 hole. If you want something a little more challenging you could visit the golf course at Clecy. There is a 27 links course at Granville or the lakeside parkland course at Vire.

Travel
Ferries - L.D Lines Portsmouth to Le Havre. This is a budget priced ferry Brittany Ferries, Portsmouth to Caen, Cherbourge, or St Malo. Speed Ferries, Dover to Bolougne. Channel Tunnel. Airports Dinard and Rennes.

Distances
The local bar is a 5 min walk away. Domfront is within walking distance for those who are fond of walking, although it's only 2 mins in the car. Domfront, has a selection of restaurants cafe/bars and is steeped in history. Saint-Fraimbault, the flower village. Torchamp for water sports. Bagnoles de L'Orne, the famous spar town with golf and casino. Flers, with water sports, ten pin bowling, shops supermarkets etc. All within a 15 mins drive.

Further details
The area is excellent for walking and cycling. There is rock climbing, go karting, swimming kyaking, and all the other usual sports and activities, in the surrounding area. The average price of a 3 course lunch is around 10.50 euro, normally including a bottle of wine.
