Paolo hails from Bari, on the Adriatic coast of southern Italy, where Julie also worked for three years as Assistant Director of Studies in an English language school. Paolo is a keen artist and graduated from the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Bari, subsequently working with a group of local painters creating reproductions of old masterpieces (no forgeries!). Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
Huelgoat is located in ancient woodland and provides an impressive base camp for exploring one of the mythical forests of Brittany, where the River Argent dances over and under huge granite boulders, boasting sites such as Arthur's Camp, Wild Boar Pond, The Falls, The Force and the old silver mine. You can spend several days exploring this forest. More demanding hikes or easy strolls are all within walking distance of Les Glycines. Maps and itineraries are available. Huelgoat is an ideal central location for exploring the northern and western coastlines and visiting the beautiful towns of Morlaix and Quimper. Huelgoat has restaurants, cafes, banks, small shops and galleries and a lively weekly market.
