Throughout this luxurious accommodation you'll find wow factors galore! The stunning 31ft living/dining room has 3 sets of French doors leading out onto a sun-drenched south-facing balcony with spectacular views over the water. Most rooms have the same view looking over the 2 acres of orchard and gardens which continue right down to the estuary with direct access to the water. All 6 bedrooms are beautifully furnished and with 2 bathrooms, 2 shower-rooms and 4 separate toilets. One of the bathrooms has a whirlpool bath installed and after a hard day's holidaying there's nothing better than a mass of bubbles in the bath and in your glass! Our 28'x15' pool heated to 27C has the latest automatic dosing equipment that continuously monitors water quality to give you a sparkling clean pool. Changeover day
To take advantage of cheaper ferry crossings, changeover day is on Tuesdays but out of high season, we're very happy to change this to whichever day is better for you.
| Bedrooms: | 5 of the 6 bedrooms have glorious views over the water. 4 double rooms: 1 with additional 2' 6" day/child's bed and en-suite shower room, and 2 with wash-hand basins. 2 twin rooms, 1 with en-suite shower and basin. All the bedlinen is cotton. |
| Bathrooms: | Bath 1 has a whirlpool bath, shower over, basin and bidet. Bath 2 has a bath, shower over and basin. Both are very spacious. Bedrooms 1 and 2 both have en-suite showers and basins, rooms 3 & 4 have their own basins and there are also 4 separate toilets. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is extremely well-equipped with large oven, 5-burner gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and kettle. The cupboards are filled with masses of matching glasses, crockery and pots, pans and serving dishes. |
| Utility Room: | Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board, airer and a toilet and sink. The utility room also houses the boiler making it a warm room so is very useful for drying off swimming costumes, wet clothes, walking gear and dive equipment. |
| Living Rooms: | The open-plan sitting/dining room is 28' long so plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The comfortable soft leather sofas seat 10 while the dining table seats 12. Light floods in through the 3 sets of French doors opening onto the balcony. |
| Other: | The library has hundreds of books lining the shelves and cupboards full of board games and videos. Swop your holiday reading with one of our books. There are two sofas, reading light and a TV with delightful views of the garden and pool. |

Outside
There's a huge 11m x 4m deck accessible either through the library or down the staircase from the balcony. There's a large table and plenty of chairs for al fresco dining and a built-in BBQ. We also have 6 sunbeds (with cushions) on this level which make it easy to keep an eye on children in the pool 4m further on while catching up on your tan!
The pool is served by an automatic chlorine-dosing system which means that water quality is always at its optimum so no stinging eyes or green hair. As it's heated to 27 degrees - may be more or less depending on ambient temperature - the pool is still enjoyable on cooler days and even in the rain. Underwater lighting enables it to be used at night too.
In September/October, pick your own apples and pears from the 50 fruit trees, wander through the 2 acres of gardens down to the water's edge and stroll along the shale beach for a mile or so where you can collect oysters from the rocks for a seafood supper at the picnic table by the water!
Coast/Beach
The Crozon Peninsula is generally undiscovered by tourists as they tend to by-pass it on their way south. It extends about 30 kms by 10 kms and in that area the scenery changes from towering cliffs to long stunningly beautiful sandy beaches which stretch for miles (there are more than 12 sandy beaches to choose from and none of them get very busy). There are numerous delightful walks in forests & moors and 145kms of coastal footpath to explore. The closest beautiful beach is just 25 mins away.
Golf
Brittany is overloaded with golf courses, all beautifully maintained by the French but very much under-used. One of the closest courses is the Brest Iroise course at Landernau. It's 6296 yards and Par 71, set in the heart of wild moors offering unforgettable views of Brest Harbour. It's one of the most challenging in Brittany and ranked 13th in all of France. There's also a 9-hole course where beginners can warm up first!

Brest airport 20 mins. Roscoff ferry port 45 mins. St. Malo ferry port 2.5 hours. Cherbourg ferry port 4.75 hrs.

Le Faou 1 mile. Brest 20 mins. Quimper 20 mins. Pentrez plage beach 25 mins.
Further details
There are 5 restaurants in Le Faou, 2 of which have covered verandas for al fresco dining. Brasserie des Halles serves traditional French fare with the obligatory 'plat du jour' of superb value. Every dish is beautifully cooked and the service is excellent. Next door is Ty an Avorig which along with an extensive menu serves fantastic pizzas which are also available to take away (a emporter) although the French haven't yet got round to home deliveries!
Don't leave without sampling at least one of the 2 creperies which serve a bewildering selecton of fillings for their 'pancakes'.
The restaurant in the hotel La Vieille Renommee is renowned for it's exquisite regional cuisine and superb service. The most discerning of gastronomes will not be disappointed by the first class quality of food served by chef Monsieur Camus.
Drive 10 minutes away to the other side of the estuary to enjoy a gourmet seafood feast at the Viviers de Terenez who will also sell you live crustaceans if you would like to prepare them yourself.
Booking notes
Rental rates include water, electricity, heating, gas, bedlinen and towels including pool/beach towels, so no extra charges anywhere. We will require a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total to secure your booking and then the balance 6 weeks before your holiday together with a refundable £300 security deposit.

Our group of 6 have just spent 10 fabulous days in this superb property! It was just as described on the website, however, this location really must be seen to be fully appreciated, as the website really does not do it justice!
The owners provided excellent customer service, before, during and after our holiday and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this property to anyone. We also liked the fact that within 20-30mins travelling in any direction, we found many places of interest, places to eat that were recommended in the housebook or in the numerous leaflets which were provided by the owners.
We were all enchanted by the setting sun, the evening light by the estuary was magical.
This place is amazing. The view every morning was breathtaking, and the house was enormous! It was the perfect retreat after a hard day of meetings and lectures!
We were particularly entranced by the beaches in the Crozon area. The sand is fine and golden and the sea crystal.

About the owner
We were originally looking for a small 2-bed house with a low maintenance garden to use as a bolt-hole and ended up (fortunately!) with Estuary House with its 6 bedrooms and 2 acres......
We've turned it into a magnificent holiday home that we have enjoyed on countless occasions with family and friends but more often than not it's just us two which is blissfully relaxing.
The locals are all very friendly even though our French leaves a lot to be desired but most of them do have a little bit of English, if pushed.
The roads and beaches are always deserted, the weather is generally drier and warmer than at home so all in all we really couldn't have chosen a better location and property. All we have to do now is do something about improving our French!
