A beautiful, south facing, spacious apartment in an old Savoyarde farm situated high above the stunning Giffre valley convenient for the ski lifts at Morillon and Samoens. These allow entry into the excellent Grand Massif ski area which includes the well known resort of Flaine, nestling in the shadow of Mont Blanc. The area has 265km of pistes for all levels of ability and is ideal for families and intermediates. The nearby village of Samoens is a 'Village Fleurie' and is a beautiful example of an unspoilt Savoyarde village. The area is also a popular summer destination for cyclists who want to take on the toughest climb of the Tour de France, the ‘Joux Plane’. The area also boasts a range of other activities such as parapenting, mountain biking, white water rafting, open air swimming and walking.

Skiing
The nearest ski lift is at Morillon, five minutes way and Samoens is a further five minutes beyond.
Both resorts link into the extensive Grand Massif area which also includes Flaine, Les Carroz and Sixt.
Samoens has a brand new Express Gondola leading into a plateau which incorporates the nursery slopes.
There are plenty of ski schools locally both at Morillon and Samoens.
The Porte Du Soleil ski area, accessed at Les Gets, is a 20 minute drive away and gives a further 650km of pistes for the more adventurous.
For the non-skiers there are plenty of bars and cafes at Samoens in which to sit and watch the world go by.
Special interest holidays
The apartment is near the base of the 'Joux Plane' the toughest climb of the 2006 Tour de France where Floyd Landis made his infamous break. Also the sight of Lance Armstrongs near disastrous mistake in 2003!
Travel
Nearest airport is Geneva which is approximately an hour's drive away. We recommend the hiring of a car to get the full benefit of the area.
Driving from Calais takes about 8 hours.

Thank you for the loan of your beautiful apartment! Our holiday was fantastic, we had a huge amount of snow- almost snowed in! The ski area was great, Morillion was our favourite. The pistes were very quiet with virtually no queues. We though Samoens village was so pretty. We would loved to have stayed longer and will definitely return. The apartment was fantastic and had everything we needed, including comfy beds, which are often lacking on holiday!It was a great base and an ideal area with lots to see and do. We had a great time, walking, cycling and rafting. Becca and Chris enjoyed swimming in Lac Bleu.
