The village history goes back 4,500 years. There are many good restaurants located nearby. The property offers a perfect base for exploring Provence and the Cote d'Azur. The Var offers beautiful landscapes with mountains and hills covered with vineyards, pine forest, olive groves and lavender fields. There are plenty of medieval villages close by and most have a weekly market.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday. Guests must leave by 10am and new arrivals can access the property after 4pm.

Third floor: under the eaves an extra large en-suite, bedroom 3 with double bed (140x190).

Second floor shower room, basin and toilet.
En-suite bathroom with bedroom 3 with bath, basin and toilet.
Kitchen: You enter the house into a charming and very well equipped kitchen/dining room. Electric cooker and hob, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, table for six with window looking out to street.
Utility Room: Washing machine, ironing table and iron, toilet and basin. extra fridge. (The village laundrette is just over the street if needed).
Living Rooms: Large first floor sitting room with windows on both sides, allowing plenty of air and light. Comfortably furnished with sofas carpets and armchairs. Stereo.

All linen is provided by the week. Cleaning is included before arrival and on departure. Additional maid service can be arranged.

Accessibility
Given the stairs the house would not be very suitable for those with mobility problems.

Coast/Beach
The closest beach is 35 minutes away by car and the coast at St Tropez is a 45-minute drive. All the beaches along the 'Var' coastline have soft, clean sand and normally a clear, calm sea. The Gorges of Verdon and the beautiful Lac St Croix are easily reached in about 45 minutes. The coast and the lake have all water sports, and the rivers in the area provide great opportunities for kayaking.

Golf
Close to several golf courses. Barbaroux Golf Club only 10 miles away. Saint-Endreol Golf Club, Fregate Golf Club, Le Parc du Golf Saint-Jean are also nearby.

Special interest holidays
In Lac de Carces swimming is not allowed, the lake is famous for pike, crayfish and trout fishing. Licence is required to fish in the lake. There is another small lake nearby (Vins-sur-Caramy) where swimming is permitted.

Travel
Marseille and Toulon/Hyeres airports are both 50 minutes away by car. Nice airport is 1 hour and 15 minutes away. The airports are served by the major airlines, both low-cost and traditional. No shortage of bargains. There are good motorway connections to Brignoles (A8) which is 10 minutes from the property. The closest train stations for the TGV are at Marseille (1 hour) or Aix-en-Provence (40 mins). Les Arcs train station for coastal/local trains is 30 minutes away. Car hire is essential.

The property offers a perfect base for exploring Provence and the Cote d'Azur. The Var offers beautiful landscapes with mountains and hills covered with vineyards, pine forest, olive groves and lavender fields. There are many medieval villages nearby and most have a weekly market. The area has many large and small vineyards where tasting and purchasing can be done. Most outdoor activities are available locally including hiking, climbing, swimming, fishing and watersports on the nearby Lac de St Croix, canyoning in the local gorges, white water rafting in the Gorges du Verdon, and kayaking on the rivers. Abbaye du Thoronet (Cistercian circa 1140), Abbaye de la Celle at Brignoles (Royal Benedictine). Pre History Museum at Quinson near Grand Canyon du Verdon. Le Val and Carces have between them banks and cash machines, a well stocked supermarket, bakers, butchers, chemists, hairdressers and several shops for local produce, home decor and art galleries. During the high season (July/August) village activities abound, and all information about these and other tourist activities are provided on arrival. There are many good restaurants located near at hand and recommendations and information provided on them all.

Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of 25% is payable to confirm required dates. Final payment is six weeks before arrival, and a security deposit of 300 euros (or equivalent in UK pounds) on arrival. Prices shown are for the property per week in euros. Discounts for long lets (minimum one month) can be negotiated.
