We offer child friendly, family holidays. Your children will enjoy and care for our animals and pets including goats, cats, guinea pigs and poultry. There are children's play areas with a playhouse and a store of toys,table tennis, badminton, swings see saw, slides, football area and archery. There is an above ground swimming pool. A small paddling pool is available for babies. For those times when parents want to relax or shop we offer children's play sessions, babysitting and horse riding. We pride ourselves on freshly prepared meals, which are popular and available on request to return to after a day out. Continental breakfasts are also available.

Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Rates for short breaks and Bed and Breakfast are available from the owners. Meals will be charged for at the end of your stay.
For longer term autumn and winter rates please contact the owners for very favourable rates.
Changeover day
The normal weekly period of rental is from 15:00 hours on Saturday to 10:00 hours on the subsequent Saturday. This can be varied out of season subject to negotiation with ourselves prior to booking.

Notes on accommodation
Children love it here, a suitable testament is the wealth of comments in our guestbook and our high number of repeat bookings.
Accessibility
The property is wheelchair accessible. There are handrails provided on the stairs and in the downstairs shower room. There is a stairgate fitted at the top of the stairs. However the stairs are a little steep.
Outside
The gite has its own garden with table seating for 10+ guests. There is ample car parking space. A barbecue is provided. There are 2 deckchairs, two loungers, a parasol and a poolside bench.
Adjacent to the house is La Haute Tinguaie which is the owners home. This is in 3 acres of woodland with a trout stream and spectacular granite rock formations to explore. Visitors are invited to share and enjoy these at their leisure.
In the extensive grounds are located the archery, football pitches, table tennis, swings and playhouse. The pool is shared only with the owner's family.
There is a selection of beach toys for you to borrow which should save room when packing!
Coast/Beach
The north coast is in easy reach of the gite by car and has miles and miles of unspoilt and sandy beaches. Our favourite is at St Pabu near Erquy with its many rock pools and vast expanse of sand. For those who prefer the prom and shops with their beach day Pleneuf Val Andre and Erquy are special; the menus at the many good seafood restaurants are well worth investigating.
Golf
There are many golf courses within easy reach. Val Andre is very popular (40 minutes).
Travel
The closest port is St Malo at 65km. The port of Caen is 212km away and Cherbourg 240. The ferries from these ports come from Portsmouth. Dinard airport is approx 60km.
Further details
Local facilities in Langourla include a Post Office, 3 bars, boulangerie, epicerie, lake with fishing available, restaurant, library, playground and open-air theatre. An international jazz festival is held every year here in August.
Nearby Merdrignac (15 mn) has an outdoor swimming pool and a lake in the heart of the Hardouinais Forest ideal for relaxation and swimming. Canoeing is available at Hunaudaye lake (35 mn) the recently revovated chateau is worth a visit as is the fantastic velorail at Medreac (40 mn) Zoos at Tregomeur (40 mn)and Bourbonsais (65 mn); and Cobac fun park (65mn) for 0-12yrs good to visit..
From May through to September Brittany enjoys a warm Spring and Summer. Temperatures tend to average the mid 20s throughout much of the summer. The historic towns of Dinan, Saint Malo and Lamballe are close by. Dinan hosts a medieval fair and tournoi every two years in July. In alternate years the historic town of Moncontour hosts the spectacle. The town of Lamballe is home to the Haras horse stud and throughout the summer holds regular evening shows featuring many of its breeds of horses.
Mont St Michel is a favourite visit with our guests who can spend many hours exploring the historic medieval abbey fortress. Nearby to the mount is Alligator bay. Well worth a visit!
Booking notes
We require a deposit of £150 or €225 at the time of booking for each week of your stay. This deposit is non refundable.
The balance of the rental is due 6 weeks before the period of rental commences. We do however, require a deposit of £150 or €225 to cover any damage to the contents or fabric of the gite or pool. This sum is payable at the time of the final payment and will be fully refunded to you, if everything is in order, within two weeks of the end of your stay with us.

About the owner
Hi. We left teaching and moved to Brittany almost 10 years ago with twin babies and a toddler. The idea being that we would offer gite holidays with everything we had tried to find while holidaying ourselves in France and never could. We wanted to create an atmosphere where children are made to feel 'at home' on holiday and not an inconvenience or additional extra! We were very lucky to find such a magnificent location as Tinguaie. The houses are unusual even for this area. The date carved in stone above the gite window is 1663 pre-dating even the French Revolution.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Langourla is a beautiful village, well cared for with prize winning gardens. The people are extremely friendly and enjoy exchanging a few words with guests, particularly if you chose to fish Langourla lake or visit an event in the open air theatre. The area has plenty of activities both for children and adults. We are lucky to have a quiet spot at La Tinguaie which is walking distance from the village but secluded in terms of privacy and sheltered by our woodland. The locals have referred to Tinguaie as 'Paradise'.
Unique benefits of the property
As you can imagine, there are toys, videos and DVDs in the gite. We have 2 cots, 2 highchairs and 2 toddler chairs. There are many activities and grounds for the children and to save space in the car we have a large bag of beach toys. Activities include trampoline,footie area, fort, zip wire, archery, table tennis, badminton, Wendy house and pets corner. There is an above ground pool with removable steps should the need arise and a paddling pool on request for tots. As a family, we welcome our guests so parents don't have to worry about the 'noise factor' with young children. We seem to have achieved our goal, witnessed by the number of repeat bookings and comments in our guest book.
