Floc ferme is an old stone farmhouse with adjoining tastefully restored gites in an elevated position with wonderful views over the Pyrenees and surrounding villages. In a rural but not too remote area of beauty and tranquillity. Views from the front of the property and gardens include Mont d'Olme and Mont Fourcat. With our clear skies the nearby villages of Verniolle, Varilhes and Mirepoix look wonderful in the evening. There is a spacious tiered garden to sit and enjoy the ever-changing scenery. The upper level tier has a stone built BBQ area with plenty of seating, walk down the railway sleeper steps to the next level and the pool area.

Skiing resorts within 45 minutes, Ax 3 Domaines, a well kept French secret or continue onto Andorra for skiing and duty free. Mont d'Olme ski resort is viewed from the property. Ski all or half day and come home to a real log fire and views of where you have skied.

You will find Floc ferme 1.5kms outside the village of Coussa, rural but not remote. 10 minutes from junction 7 of the main N20 Toulouse to Andorra route. Atmospheric French markets at Mirepoix, Foix and Pamiers. The historical chateau of Montesegur the symbol of Cathar resistance and Roquefixade, a must. The walled city of Carcassonne just 45 minutes away. Lombrives cave, the largest in Europe. Riviere souterraine de Labouiche, underground river cruise or spend a day at the Prehistoric Park.
Further details
This property is fully self-contained with open-plan style lounge diner. The French doors allow the light to flow in and also enable you to have wonderful views of the valley and mountains. There is an enclosed wood burning fire, for winter rentals logs are supplied. On the terrace there are table and chairs or if preferred you are welcome to use the table on the tiered garden area with use of the BBQ. A pool and decking area are on the lower level, all areas give great views. This gite accommodates up to 6 persons with use of the sofa-bed in the lounge. Upstairs is a very spacious twin bedroom and double bedroom plus bathroom. If additional accommodation is required there is an adjoining self-contained apartment with double bedroom and bathroom this can be accessed from the lockable door in the twin bedroom or via the rear terrace. Ideal family accommodation, or if grandparents need their own 'bit of space'.
