Notes on accommodation
The proximity to the town centre restaurants and bars could not be better. Unfortunately this means that on busy nights it can be noisy if you are used to more rural living. In our view the benefits outweigh the noise and we use foam earplugs during busy periods to ensure an uninterrupted sleep.
Accessibility
The apartment is accessible via 4 steps up from the car park and then there is a 4 person lift which operates from the ground floor but does not access the basement. The property has not been adapted for wheelchair users.
Outside
Although this Chamonix apartment enjoys the most fantastic central location, the buildings outside the windows are almost all low level which means that it is not really overlooked allowing views of 3 aspects.
The apartment has a large terrace balcony which extends most of the length of the apartment with fantastic views of the Bosson Glacier and Mont Blanc. Relax in the comfortable deck chairs and enjoy the magnificent view.
There is private parking for 2 cars which takes all the hassle out of trying to find a parking space. There is also a private lockable ski cave in the basement which is extremely useful for skiers.
Golf
Chamonix has an 18 hole golf course just a 10 min walk from the town centre. It is possible to hire clubs, trolleys, buggies and even balls at the club so if the weather is good there is nothing to stop you playing a round in the beautiful surroundings of the Chamonix valley.
Skiing
Chamonix is one of the most accessible of the French ski resorts, less than an hour and a half from Geneva airport and less than 8 hours from Calais. Skiing is possible in a chain of ski areas along both sides of the valley dominated by Mont Blanc.
The Chamonix valley caters for all levels of skier and snowboarder. There are blue runs for beginners and excellent ski schools. Intermediate skiers can spend a week in the valley without going to the same place twice. More advanced skiers will find the possibilities endless with the Grands Montets at Argentiere and for the adventurous book a guide and ski the famous Vallee Blanche. If you like variety then the Mont Blanc unlimited lift pass also covers skiing in Les Houches and Courmayer (through the tunnel).
Travel
By air - Geneva airport is only one hours drive from Chamonix and is motorway/dual carriageway all the way. The easiest and quickest way to Chamonix from Geneva is via an airport transfer company. An internet search will identify many providers at approx 25 euros each way.
Car hire - Geneva airport offers a range of car hire companies if you wish to self drive. It's not essential to have a rental car though, when you are in Chamonix.
Further details
Chamonix offers a range of modern amenities including a fully equipped sports centre/pool, ice rink, climbing wall, bowling alley and cinema.
In summer, the Chamonix valley is just as exciting and beautiful to visit and is world renowned for walking, climbing and mountain biking. The white water activities are also very popular with our family followed by a game of tennis (5 minute walk) where you can hire rackets and finish with a beer on their terrace.

"We had a fantastic week in Chamonix with sun and snow, very pleased with the apartment, lovely views and location and are looking forward to returning sometime."
Phil (Birmingham).
"Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the apartment. It’s not like any apartment I’ve rented in Chamonix before, incredibly spacious and the central location was really convenient. It had everything we needed.
I’ll have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone."

Owner profile
About the owner
My husband and I live in England. We have 2 boys of 22 and 18 plus a dog. We love outdoor activities and will give most things a try which is why we bought in Chamonix. We had been before in both Summer and Winter and knew there was loads to do in both seasons. We are delighted that as well as enjoying many of the same activities we are also still finding new things to try. Access is great with the motorway up to the Mont Blanc tunnel giving dual carriageway to within a mile of the town centre. This means either an easy transfer from Geneva in about an hour or an 8 hour drive from Calais, so on our longer breaks we can bring our much loved pet who unsurprisingly loves outdoor activities too. Unusually for Chamonix centre we have 2 parking spaces and a lift up to the apartment.
Year purchased: 2008
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The skiing possibilities are huge with the Multi pass covering 7 ski areas in 3 countries. This has the advantage of both providing huge variety but also of letting you choose your area to get the best conditions on the day. For non skiers there are loads of options from sightseeing to walking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, husky sledging, skiing. Chamonix is a proper town and so has loads of amenities as well - lots of restaurants and shops, but also a good indoor pool complex, an ice rink, indoor climbing walls, indoor tennis and 10 pin bowling. Summer brings a huge choice. Apart from all types of mountaineering there is canyoning, white water rafting/ canoeing and mountain biking, a great golf course and some fabulous day out options too - Summer luge, parcours, Lac Passy.
Unique benefits of the property
When our friends, family and guests have stayed we are always delighted at the enthusiasm they come back with both for our apartment and for the Chamonix region. The spaciousness of the apartment is always a focus, as is the central location. For self catered accomodation you can't do much better than being 1 minute walk from the main supermarket and 20 seconds to the 4 nearest restaurants! This gives people a real choice to eat in, eat out or have a take away and not to have to decide until the last minute which to pick. In winter the fabulous open hearth and the big kitchen table create a fabulous homely environment. In Summer the large windows, french doors and balcony allow the Summer in and you to sit out and sunbathe.
