Le Baie is a delightful 4 bedroom holiday home in the Poitou-Charentes region of France. The house has been designed to accommodate visitors who are wheelchair dependent, with a wet-room bathroom and specialised shower chair. The south-facing lounge overlooks quiet countryside and offers fantastic sunset views along with a wood-burning stove for the winter. The house is centrally heated, has a fully equipped kitchen, spacious dining room and private veranda. 4 bedrooms offer accommodation for up to 8 guests comfortably, and we can also supply cot and high chair facilities. Le Baie self-catering gite is situated at La Charriere - once an old farm and now converted to 2 luxury gites, with the owners living on site. Shared facilities include heated outdoor pool 12m x 6m (May - September), badminton/volleyball court, pool table, tennis table and bicycles. Set in 10 acres and 0.25 miles from the nearest farm, this is the perfect place to relax 'en France'.

Accessibility
One of the bedrooms is specifically set to be suitable for a wheelchair user, with suitable turning space and a low height basin. A hoist can be hired if required for the bedroom. Additionally the main bathroom is a 'wetroom' with grab handles and a shower chair is available if needed.
Outside
La Baie has a garden area and terrace, barbecue, garden table and chairs, and parking. There is a large heated outdoor pool on site available for use May - September. Free sports facilities include covered badminton/volleyball/basketball court, pool and table tennis, and bicycles for all ages.

Further afield, visit the Western coast and La Rochelle area, or chateaux of the Loire to the East.

You can take day trips to the beaches on the West Coast e.g. Sables de l'Onnes - roughly 2 hr drive.

We are delighted to offer special 'Wine Tasting' weeks which include accommodation, transport to various local vineyards and expert tuition from a British wine connoisseur.
Local specialities include Savenniere, Coteaux du Layon, Chinon.

Distances
Argenton Les Vallees is a 5 min drive and has basic shops along with a large open air swimming pool, a lake with pedalos and row boats and a very good lakeside restaurant. Bressuire is a 15 minute drive and offers a more than adequate selection of supermarkets, restaurants, a town centre market every Tuesday and some wonderful patisseries!
There are many excellent vineyards at a short drive and we are happy to recommend the best places for a 'degustation'.

Ideal for a scenic cycling holiday, wine tasting, relaxing by the pool or a fun family holiday, the local area is quiet countryside dotted with villages and towns.
