Paimpol is a picturesque yachting and fishing harbour just 5 minutes away, Plouha's spectacular cliffs and beaches (with great children's facilities) just 10 minutes drive, and historic and beautiful Pontrieux 15 minutes. The Côte du Goelo and the Côte de Granite Rose are both within easy reach - just 10-15 minutes drive. Whether you're looking for sea and beaches, sight-seeing, visiting the traditional French markets, experiencing the great wine and food, wanting an activity-filled holiday, or just a rural countryside retreat - La Carniche is for you.

Fridays, but flexible outside of high season.

Notes on accommodation
Separate wall-mounted electric convector heating in all rooms.
Children's facilities include cot, playpen, highchair, potty & toilet trainer seat, bed side-rail, changing mat, and some toys.
Accessibility
One downstairs double bedroom, small toilet, and large shower room with toilet. Small step access into house, larger step onto patio, 3 steps into garden. Unsuitable for wheelchairs as no adaptations for toilet and garden access.
Outside
Large enclosed south and west facing garden, accessed via steps from the raised patio (enclosed with railings) - gate with 3 steps into garden. Garden is enclosed by trees and fencing. Garden furniture set. There is a garden games pack and a picnic barbecue for those evenings in.
Coast/Beach
10 minutes drive from harbours and beaches at Paimpol and Bréhec, 15 minutes to Palus Plage at Plouha with great facilities including children's park, toilets, restaurant and easy parking, 20 minutes to Binic.
Ideally situated for exploring the coasts to the east, north and west - all within easy driving distance. Fantastic sight-seeing - with cliffs, harbours, rivers and estuaries, historic sites, and countryside.
Golf
30 minutes to golf courses.
Travel
90 minutes drive from Dinard airport and ports at Saint Malo and Roscoff. Yvias is just a couple of minutes drive from the D7 road to Paimpol - whilst being quiet and rural, there is easy access to the main road networks.

Around the corner to centre of Yvias village. 4km to nearest shop at Plourivo. 8km to Paimpol - harbourside restaurants, museums, shops, centre commercial and hypermarchés (5 minutes drive), beaches, Ile de Bréhat. 10km to Pontrieux - historic town, steam railway, river trips. 12km to Plouha and Brehec – beaches. 27km to Armoripark - water theme park. 120km to Saint Malo ferry port. 104km to Roscoff ferry port. 110km to Dinard airport.

Your morning baguettes can be ordered and purchased just 2 minutes walk away at the village tabac-café-bar. A large Carrefour Hypermarché is 5 minutes drive towards Paimpol. Many historic sites of interest and sporting and activities nearby. Approx 50 metres from house - village basketball court and small play-area for young children. Please contact for links and further information. Nearby are facilities for all water-sports including kayaking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and swimming. Cycles may be available at the house, and also hire facilities just 5 minutes away. Horse-riding, golf and all tourist activities located nearby.

I live in Guernsey with my husband and 6 year old daughter (I also have 2 adult children). My husband's a retired schoolteacher, I'm a CBT therapist (nurse) and also run a mental health self help website. I enjoy cycling and kayaking - in Guernsey and Brittany!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
My grandparents were French (sadly not reflected in my language skills), and my grandmother came from Plouha. I've always loved Plouha and the surrounding area, and we bought La Carniche in November 2007. The coast is spectacular - pink granite, cliffs, beaches, river estuaries, and the countryside is such a contrast -green, rural, traditional. Yvias is best of both worlds - a small rural village, yet so close to a busy fishing and yachting harbour and great shops 5 minutes away.
We visit 3-4 times each year and it amazes me that we find new gems each time we visit.
Unique benefits of the property
I just love relaxing at the house, interspersed with outings to the coast, sight-seeing, and taking our little girl to the various attractions and many beaches. The house is very spacious and comfortable - a perfect holiday home. It's in the heart of a village, just yards from the church.
