'Le chateau de ma mère' (Marcel Pagnol), my mother's castle, her dream and creation in 1965 was passed on to me in 2003 and was completely renovated in 2004. In 1985 she built a swimming pool to ensure the frequent visits of her grandchildren! The property covers nearly 1 hectare (2.5 acres), mostly pines behind the house but also three terraces now planted with young olive trees. Stunning views!

Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | The bedroom on the bottom floor, the master bedroom, has a double bed and in the adjoining living room a double sofabed. On the middle and top floor there are 90cm wide singles that can be made up as double beds and in the top floor there are 2 singles. |
| Bathrooms: | Each floor has a shower or bathroom with a wc. The only real bathroom is on the bottom floor. On the middle and top floor there are shower rooms with a wc. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen contains a gas hob, an electric oven, a microwave oven, a dishwasher, 2 sinks, a fridge and freezer. All other apparatus: coffee machine, water boiler, mixer, grinder, toaster, pots pans and cheese graters are present. |
| Utility Room: | The clothes-washing machine is located in the downstairs 'buanderie' or utility room, where there is another fridge, freezer, dishwasher, sink and electric hob. |
| Living Rooms: | In the traditional Provençal way, the living and dining room are all one. At one end of the room there is the large fireplace and at the other end there is the dining table for 8 to 10. In the summer most of the life at Lou Capitani takes place outside. |
| Other: | Most people in Provence seek shelter from the sun in the summer. We have large umbrellas to provide shade. Please note that high winds can blow up suddenly. Please close these when you leave the house or go to bed. |

All house linen (excluding pool and beach towels) is included in the rental price, as are the utilities and cleaning after your departure. Phones are not available. |

Coast/Beach
Beach at 8 kilometres.
The nearest beach is at Bandol-Sanary. These two towns are side by side due south of Lou Capitani. For rocky creeks, on the road west from Bandol to St Cyr, take the road to Port d'Alon. Other sandy beaches are available at Les Lecques, after St Cyr going towards La Ciotat.
Golf
The Fregate 18 hole golf course is just a 15 minute drive away.
Travel
Airports at Toulon-Hyères or Marseille at 45 kilometres.
Distances
Toulon at 20 kilometres.
Bandol at 8 kilometres.
Further details
The nearest shopping area for regular household needs is at Le Beausset, about 3 kilometres away. It has 2 weekly markets, a big one on Fridays and a smaller one on Sundays in the morning, well worth a visit! Le Beausset also has 2 supermarkets.
The nearest really big towns are Toulon (20 k) and Marseille (45 k). Excursions to Aix en Provence, Arles, Avignon, Nimes and the Camargue are all only an hour or two away. For walkers, the range of the Ste Baume, facing LouCapitani, is a must.
Local activities include diving, surfing, swimming, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, wind-surfing, water skiing, mountain biking, mountaineering, paragliding and roller blading.
