La Haute Hague is a 300 year old Longère set amidst lovely grounds in the picturesque Normandy countryside and comprises of three beautiful cottages, The Longère, The Stables and the Cidrerie. Each has been thoughtfully furnished and equipped with quality appliances to provide the perfect home from home. La Haute Hague is surrounded by delightful gardens with plenty of sunny and shady spots to relax in. The Longère and Stables have their own private decked terraces - perfect for watching spectacular sunsets. The front lawn is wide, flat and a safe area for football or badminton. Guests are welcome to use the sun room, the BBQ area or one of the portable BBQs in order to dine alfresco during the long summer evenings. La Haute Hague is ideally situated and is within 5 minutes of the bustling market town of Villedieu-les-Pôeles with its shops and restaurants. Granville with its beaches are within 25 minutes with Mont-Saint-Michel, the D'day beaches and Bayeux all within the hour.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover days are Saturdays with arrival from 4pm and departure by 10am on departure date. Please contact the owners if you require different arrival/departure dates and/or times as these can be changed with their agreement.

The Longère is full of charming features such as wood beams and exposed stone walls. Suitable for children (but not for those who can't manage stairs). This cottage is also available as a 3 bedroom property (contact the owners for details) and comprises of:
Ground floor - kitchen/dining area equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, gas cooker and hob plus all necessary crockery and utensils. The Solid oak farmhouse table seats 8.
Spacious living room with comfortable seating. Patio doors leading to the private wood terrace. Equipped with Television, Free to view Sky TV, DVD, VCR and Hi-fi. A Large wooden chest contains games and books for your entertainment.
First floor - Two large double bedrooms both with comfortable seating and room for a cot.
Large family bathroom comprising of walk in shower, toilet and sink.
Second floor - Two twin bedrooms. One with en-suite shower, toilet and sink. Baby pack available. Oil fired central heating.

The Stables, again, has exposed stone walls and wood beams which adds to the charm of the spacious open-plan kitchen/living area. This cottage also has a ground floor bedroom with en-suite for those who may struggle with stairs. Ideal for children, parents and grandparents alike!
Ground floor - Kitchen area with plenty of work and cupboard space equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, gas cooker and hob plus all necessary crockery and utensils.
Wooden dining room table seating up to 6 people.
Living area with comfortable seating and patio doors leading to the private wood terrace.
Television with free to view Sky TV, DVD, VCR and Hi-fi.
Small wooden chest containing games etc. Books also available in the property.

The Cidrerie is exactly what it sounds as amongst other things this was where the cider was stored. The Cidrerie has exposed ceiling beams and stone walls which add to its charm. On the first floor, the original cross beam of the building has been left exposed and is now incorporated into the accommodation. Full of character, this property is an ideal base for house hunters and holidaymakers alike!
Ground floor - Open-plan kitchen and living area. Kitchen comprises of washing machine, microwave, fridge, gas cooker and hob and all necessary crockery and utensils.
Pine table seating up to 3 people.
Comfortable seating.
Television with free to view Sky TV, DVD, VCR and Hi-fi.
Large wooden armoire containing books and games.
First floor - Bathroom comprising bath, toilet and sink.

Notes on accommodation
Bedding and bedlinen is included (towels are not available).
We politely request that outdoor shoes are not worn on the upper floors - please bring slippers! Electricity is included in the rental price. The Longère and Stables both have oil fired central heating (fuel not included and charged separately). All properties have gas heaters. A baby pack including travel cot, high chair, stair gate, baby bath and potty is available at a small additional charge. (You will need to bring your own cot linen). Please contact the owners for more information. Smoking is not permitted inside the properties.

Accessibility
Each property is suitable for children. Stair gates are available if booked in advance. The Longère and the Cidrerie are not suitable for people with mobility problems. The Stables has a downstairs twin bedroom with en-suite walk in shower, toilet and sink and therefore is suitable for those who struggle with stairs but is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Outside
The garden to the front of the property is very large and is ideal for ball games etc, leaving the rear garden tranquil for those enjoying the views. The front and rear lawns are shared. At one end of the property is a sun room which adjoins a static BBQ area. Mobile BBQs are also available for use. The Longère and Stables have their own wood decked terraces. The Cidrerie garden, whilst not enclosed, is separate. Each property has its own outside furniture.

Coast/Beach
Miles of golden sandy beaches stretch from just north of Avranches right up the western coastline of the Cherbourg Peninsula meaning that you have lots of beaches to explore. The coastal town of Granville has a beach, however, head north or south from the town and you will find lots to choose from. Granville is approximately 25 minutes away. Further afield is the northern coastline from Arromanches to Ouistreham (the landing beaches) which are interspersed by lively fishing villages.

Travel
Use of a car is essential. La Haute Hague is located 90 minutes from Cherbourg and St Malo, 60 minutes from Caen Ouistreham and approximately 2 hours from Le Havre. Calais is approximately 3 and a half hours by car. Paris is approximately 4 hours by car, as is Charles de Gaulle International Airport. Ryan Air have daily flights from the UK into Dinan (St Malo). Car rental is available at both airports.

Distances
La Haute Hague is, by car, approximately 3 mins from Fleury where there is a restaurant and a boulangerie, or 5 mins from Villedieu-les-Pôeles which is a busy tourist town offering supermarkets, shops, restaurants, bars and tabacs. To the west is the coastal town of Granville, 25 mins, to the North East is Bayeux and it's tapestry, the landing beaches and Caen, all approx 50 mins. South is the pretty town of Avranches 15 mins, and in Brittany, Le Mont St Michel 45 mins, St Malo 1 hour.

Further details
Villedieu-les-Pôeles (approx 5 mins), famous for its locally-crafted copperware, has a lively weekly market and an impressive bell foundry where some of the largest bells in the world have been made. A tourist destination, there are plenty of restaurants, bars and pavement cafés as well as shops selling locally made copper pans and curios. The town also has a supermarket, several banks, a large post office, copper, lace and furniture museums as well as a lovely indoor swimming pool complete with slide and splash pool.
