The property is situated in the small village of Menthon Saint Bernard on the east side of the beautiful Lac d' Annecy, and offers a superb base to explore a wide range of outdoor activities or just to relax. It is only 5 minutes walk to the main part of the village, 15 minutes walk to the shores of the Lake, and a few minutes drive from the famous Chateau de Menthon. The ski resorts of Grand Bornand and La Clusaz are within 25 minutes drive whilst the larger resorts of Chamonix and Val D'Isere are within 60 minutes drive. The property is a typical Savoyard house on 3 levels with a small outdoor decked terrace area. The lower floor consists of a large lounge, utility room /walk in shower, and a double bedroom. On the middle level is a kitchen/ dining room, and on the third floor there is a twin bedroom (with a view of the Chateau), a bathroom with bath and overhead shower, and a separate WC.

Accessibility

Outside
There is a small decked area outside the kitchen which overlooks the square and is suitable for al fresco dining and drinking.
Coast/Beach
15 minutes walk to the lakeside beach at Menthon (with changing facilities, enclosed outside pool area, cafe & bar, childrens area).
There are more beaches which can be reached by bike, ferry, or car.
Golf
Talloires Golf Club, 18 holes, is only 5 minutes drive away and is an excellent course with stunning views.
There are other courses at the medieval village of Giez which is approximately 10km (15min) away, and at Aix les bains - 30km (45min).
Skiing
The property is ideally placed with easy access to major ski resorts. The resort towns of Grand Bournard and La Clusaz are within 20 minutes drive of Maison Menthon, whilst Chamonix and Val D’Isere can be reached within an hour. Both Menthon and Annecy offer more relaxing evenings than the adrenaline fuelled après ski evenings traditionally associated with alpine resorts, and you can relax in the quiet bars and restaurants or even in the house itself which offers far more spacious accommodation than the typical alpine chalet.
Much of the skiing in La Clusaz is suited to beginners and intermediates, with Beauregard particularly suited to beginners and young children.
Advanced skiers will want to spend most of their time at La Balme, with its extensive off-piste opportunities.
There is also the Asics Trail, a night-time downhill snow trail over the pistes of La Clusaz which is lit by torches.
Special interest holidays
Paragliding / Hangliding: there are numerous launch sites and clubs. Col de La Forclaz is an extremely popular area for watching or trying out these adrenalin sports!
Cycling: Their are numerous cycle routes around the area with various degrees of difficulty including the former Albertville to Annecy railway line which is now a popular family cycle route.
Other activities include water skiing, swimming, pedal boat and sailing boat rental, lake trips, fishing, hiking, walking, cycling, horse riding, ice skating, skiing, summer luge, amusement parks, bowling, casino, cinema.

The village is positioned on the east shore of Lake Annecy 9 km from Annecy. The village is overlooked by the impressive Chateau du Menthon and the twin peaks of “Dents de Lanfon”. Much of the village itself is built on the relatively flat area by the lake making it easy for getting about on foot. Menthon Saint Bernard is convenient by car for the old town of Annecy itself, with its picturesque canals, buzzing restaurants, stylish bars and relaxed shopping.
