Owner profile
About the owner
We love France and especially Provence. Having lived here for nearly 8 years we count ourselves lucky to have found this magical corner of Europe where the lifestyle has mostly gone unchanged for the last 100 or so years. We live here with our son who has been educated at the local school and now college, my Mum lives in the centre of the village and our Provencal friends are all around us.
Year purchased: 2003
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Provence is possibly the most beautiful region of France. Long summer days, warm tempartures throughout the year, delicious food, local wines and of course the Provencal jest for life. Aups is a working village with a buzz throughout the year and a real sense of community. We are also close to the lake at St Croix, ideal for swimming away from the crowds on the beaches and not that far from the bright lights of Cannes and St Tropez when we need a 'city' fix. We are also lucky enough to have 3 airports all within a 90 min drive of Aups so easily access from all across Europe.
Unique benefits of the property
Aups is a try Provencal village, when staying a La Raspaioun you can enjoy the smell of newly baked bread wafting from the boulangerie on the corner, a twice weekly Provencal market throughout the year and a selection of restaurants and cafes. There are some wonderful walks starting in the village, local vineyards and for those looking for water sports or a beach the lake at St Croix is a 15-20 minute drive.
As we live just outside of the village then we are delighted to share some of the 'hidden' Provence that we have discovered.
