Buy your baguette at the baker's round the corner, go to the cheese shop or the pastry shop nearby, try the local restaurants and cafés or go sightseeing on foot, even though the Rue St Maur metro station is right by the main door.
Further details
It is a 20 minutes' walk to the Place de la Bastille and its new Opera House, to the Place des Vosges, Paris oldest square, half an hour's walk to Notre Dame Cathedral, the Sainte Chapelle and its stained glass windows or the Louvre museum.
It takes less than half an hour to reach any place inside Paris by metro and you can reach Versailles, Saint Germain en Laye, Saint Denis or Euro Disney Land in less than two hours by metro and train.
