Situated between the traditional French market towns of Trie sur Baise and Mielan, Au Barbut is perfectly located for an all year round get away. During the warm summer months there is a private pool to lounge around or gardens and woodlands in which to relax and during the mild winter months there is spacious accommodation and roaring logs fires to curl up in front of or to enjoy the company of friends and family. For the more energetic amongst you, there is a private gym and beautiful surroundings for country walks or bike rides (bikes not supplied) or for those of you who prefer to potter, typical day trips include shopping (Tarbes, Auch, Toulouse), lake and river based water sports activities and skiing (Pyrenees), French markets, traditional regional tourist attractions, forest, lake and countryside walking and cycling and golf. If you are more of a home bird, the beautiful and authentic features of Au Barbuts 200 year old history will offer you a very warm welcome.

Changeover day
Saturdays are preferred changeover days but the owner will accommodate any reasonable requests wherever possible

| Bedrooms: | There are 7 bedrooms all offering double or king size beds and one den offering a single daybed. (Maximum sleeping capacity is based on dining and living capacities). |
| Bathrooms: | 6 bedrooms have their own private or en-suite wc and shower facilities. The single room has private wc facilities but no shower and the last bedroom shares a bathroom with one of the others. |
| Kitchen: | Cooker, hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, bread maker, Kenwood food mixer/processor. |

Accessibility
As small stones and gravel surround the house and the interior and exterior is split level, some people may have mobility problems using this house.
Outside
There is ample garden area to enjoy with outside eating, seating and relaxation furniture available for use. There is a barbecue area to also enjoy as well as a little valley and woodland to explore. Please note that there may be small animals (goats/sheep) grazing on some of this land (not the garden area) so children must be kept under supervision.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is 2.5 hours drive away at Biarritz. The Med coast is approximately the same distance away.
Golf
The closest golf course to Au Barbut is Tillac near Marciac (about 15 minutes away).
Skiing
The nearest ski resort is St Lary Soulan (about 70 minutes drive).
Travel
The nearest airports are Pau (50 mins drive) or Toulouse (90 mins drive) or Carcassonne (150 minutes drive). Car use is essential for staying at Au Barbut.
Distances
Mielan and Trie sur Baise are both approximately 7 minutes drive away. Tarbes is the nearest main city which is approximately 25 mins by car. The Pyrenees are 80 minutes drive and Lourdes is 50 minutes drive.
Further details
Trie sur Baise has a well equipped supermarket and other local facilities. There are also local restaurants and bars available (by car) nearby - a local information and tourist information booklet is provided by the owners.
Booking notes
All bookings require a 25% non-refundable deposit with the balance due 12 weeks before arrival. A £500 security deposit will also be requested on arrival at the property but will not be cashed unless the departure conditions determine it to be so (full details can be found in the booking conditions).
