Set close to the rushing white waters of the River Dranse in the popular village of St Jean d'Aulps, this newly renovated chalet provides luxury chalet accommodation in 5 en-suite rooms, including 2 family rooms. The comfortable lounge has leather sofas and English TV. The dining area features a farmhouse style large refectory table. The kitchen is a dream, being large and very well equipped including double oven, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The bedrooms all large and are a mixture of twin and double beds with 2 rooms able to take bunk beds comfortably. Cots and high-chairs are available on demand. There is ample parking and a sunny terrace to enjoy the spectacular local scenery. A few minutes walk is the village centre with a convenience store, bakers, butchers, banks, bars, restaurants and tourist information. This is an ideal base to enjoy the many mountain activities and other attractions in both France and Switzerland.

Changeover day
Normally Saturday but we try to be flexible.

Outside
There is a sunny terrace with spectacular mountain views to enjoy a BBQ or a quiet drink. There is an outdoor hot tub which can be available for an extra charge.
Golf
Les Gets, 15 minutes drive, has an 18 hole course.
Avoriaz, 25 minutes drive has a 9 hole course at altitude.
Evian, 40 minutes drive, has a championship course.
Skiing
The chalet is situated in the massive Portes du Soleil ski area with a choice of resorts and excellent ski lifts within a 10 minute drive.
The chalet is only available on a catered basis during the ski season.
Travel
Geneva airport is 75 mins drive.
Chambery airport is 90 mins drive.
Lyon airport is about 2 hours drive.
The TGV train service stops af Geneva and Cluses (25 minutes drive).
Car hire is recommended.
The drive from Calais is about 8.5 hours.
Distances
The village centre is 10 mins walk.
There is a good supermarket a few minutes drive.
Morzine is 5 mins drive.
Lake Geneva is 30 mins drive.
Further details
The village has a choice of excellent value restaurants, including one recently voted one of the top 3 in the area.
There are a couple of bars within walking distance, including one with Sky Sports and excellent pizzas to eat in or take out.
The village is founded around the 13c abbey where there is an excellent visitor centre.
There is also a good local bus service to Morzine and Thonon les Baines.

The balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival.
