A country cottage based around a former bakery which has been extended, renovated and fully modernised to a high standard. It lies in a small hamlet in an elevated situation outside the village of Perriers en Beauficel in the bocage, rolling countryside with scattered farms and cottages, between Vire and Mortain. It is all on one floor with an open plan layout in older part making this an ideal holiday home for the family. Excellent modern facilities including recent fully fitted kitchen and shower room, log burning stove, washing machine, 32' Sony flat screen TV with UK Freeview channels. Outside are enclosed gardens over half an acre. The rural French experience, but with shops, bars, restaurants and a wide range of facilities in nearby towns as well as a golf course at Vire, the seaside at Granville, Mont St Michael and Bayeux tapestry all within easy reach. English key holder in the village has young children and can give you lots of ideas on what’s on and days out for the family.

Changeover day
Saturday preferred. Arrival not before 3pm. Departure no later than 10am. Key collection from Carrie at Les Aumones the first house in the village on the left after the sign for Perriers en Beauficel from Vire. Keyholder will then show around the cottage.

Coast/Beach
Granville an old fashioned seaside town is the nearest beach resort and is about 35 miles to the west or around an hour driving time. Mont St Michael is similar.
Golf
La Dathee Golf Club a lakeside 18 hole course on road to Vire about 8 miles away.
Travel
Calais is about 270 miles/4 hours driving time in part toll roads (currently 22.70 Euros each way). Le Havre about 120 miles/2 hours driving time in part toll roads (currently 15.80 Euros each way). Caen about 45 miles/ 1 hour driving time.
Cherbourg about 100 miles/2 hours driving time. This is a country cottage so a car is essential.
Distances
Mortain, Sourdeval and Vire the nearest towns all with local shops, supermarkets, banks, bars and restaurants are each about 10 miles away. Perriers en Beauficel the nearest village is about 1 mile and a half.
Booking notes
Cost of the cottage: 10% deposit payable in £ Sterling by cheque to Trevor Haggart within 14 days of the date of confirmation of booking. Outstanding balance payable at start of holiday in Euros in cash (at the then exchange rate) to local English key holder together with 100 Euro cash deposit to cover any breakages etc to be returned upon departure.
