Very spacious and sunny villa with pool, just 25 minutes north west from Montpellier medieval city centre and 30 minutes from the beaches. The house is located in a very quiet and picturesque village called St Jean De La Blaquiere, located approx. 8km from local amenities in Lodeve and A75. The property is surrounded by a small garden mainly to the rear with exquisite views of old olive trees and vineyards with a south facing patio/decking area and heated swimming pool. The Villa is set back off the road on the outskirts of the village, yet within walking distance to boulangerie, cafe, bar and tennis court. It is conveniently located 35 minutes drive from Bezier airport or 45 minutes from Montpellier. The property is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, very close to Lac de Salagou, St Guilhem Le Desert, St Saturnin (Famous book ‘Virgil’s Vineyard) and Cirque de Navacelle. There is a wide selection of beautiful country walks and local horse riding. Property completed in June 08.

Changeover day
Arrival time must be 3.30 onwards and departure 10am to allow for cleaning if bookings are back to back. Changeover, arrival and departure can be flexible depending on bookings, please confirm with me first.

Notes on accommodation
The swimming pool is solar heated (new vac tube type) and has a break-water alarm fitted when not in use for child safety. Reversable air-conditioning/heating to all areas, with climate control, remotes in each room. Electric gates with remote and keypad entry. Two additional camp beds available if required.
Accessibility
The lower floor and rooms are easily accessible and the pool patio area has a level surround.
Outside
Drive concrete then gravel leading to front of property. Garden has newly planted shrubs & flowering climbers, large natural stone patio & substantial decking area. Comfortable outdoor loungers & patio table with 6 chairs is provided and the pool measures 7 x 3.5m with heating & lighting.

Great fresh water swimming in the local lake, Lac de Salagou, which as a small beach & sailing club, small boats can be hired or you can even board a Catamaran for a tour by sail. ( Great to Avoid the crowds at peak times)

Booking notes
To reserve your booking there is a 25% (non-refundable) deposit. The balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. There is also a refundable security deposit of £100 per week, which is due with your final balance. Bookings of 2 or more weeks during July/August preferred.

About the owner
Hi, I quite like to travel and have been searching for many years to find the right location to build a property. I am in the fortunate position to run a company that designs medical instruments, which ticks the box for design & business challenges. I grew up in California and then came to England early on in life at 11 and had to adjust to the climate and a proper education. I really enjoy this part of France as the weather reminds me of my childhood, yet has all the cultural elements that makes life interesting as an adult. I have always been keen on going on adventures and this project was no exception. My father had a heart attack and changed my perspective on what was important in life and this project and place have really made a difference.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Back in 2005 I met up with a friendly lady called Sally who lived locally in lodeve. I was on the quest to find the best location in the area to build a property with the most spectacular views, a task too great you might say. Well, I looked in Portugal, Croatia and last of all the Languedoc in France and have not regretted it one bit! It was more work than expected and had the usual problems with builders, but eventually found a little place in heaven. If I had the choice, I would spend time there, where the climate is great and the relaxed pace of life helps you recharge your batteries. In the mean time let me know if you would like to go in search of what I still think is the most lovely part of this beautiful country.
