The barn which was converted 4 years ago is set in 7 acres of grounds which you can explore at your leisure and it has its own private pool. It is situated in a tiny rural hamlet, the road becomes a track into the woods so there is no through traffic. The property is perfect for experiencing the calm and tranquility of the Perigord Vert (the Northern part of the Dordogne). Relax by the pool, have a barbecue on the terrace or take a glass of wine on the balcony whilst a stunning sunset fills the sky.

Changeover day
Saturday changeover. Arrival after 4pm and Departure at 10am so we have time to make a thorough clean of the property.

Notes on accommodation
There is central heating to radiators and towel rail heating in the bathrooms.
The pool is fully fenced making it very safe for children.
No smoking inside property.

Coast/Beach
Royan is the nearest coastal destination (about a 2 hour drive). There are leisure lakes and the manmade river beach at Aubeterre (30 minutes drive).
Travel
Limoges and Bergerac airports are 1 hour 30mins drive and Bordeaux is 2 hours.Car hire is available from the airport.
Nearest airport is Angouleme (40min drive) Ryanair fly from Stansted. Please note - Ryanair have suspended the service to Angouleme for 2010.
Distances
Angouleme, capital of the Charente is 30km.
Brantome (the Venice of the Perigord and the nearby prehistoric caves at Villars is 30km.
Villebois Lavalette and Mareuil with castles and market days are 10km.
Aubeterre one of the prettiest villages in France is a 30min drive.
Further details
The nearby village of La Rochebeaucourt has a small shop, one bar and one restaurant.
The nearest supermarket is Mareuil or Villebois 10km.
You are welcome to pick any of the vegetables and herbs that are ready in the garden.
From mid April till early June wild orchids flower in the fields and hedgerows at Lagland. The protected nature site at the limestone plateau of Argentine, 1km from property, is part of the Perigord and Limousin Nature Park. It has 24 species of orchids as well as many other rare flora.
