Le Roc Nord, St.Vivien, South West France, previously the farmhouse to a well-established vineyard, Le Roc Nord offers you and your family not only an idyllic location for a self-catering holiday with sunshine, peace and wonderful historical countryside, but also the opportunity to enjoy plenty of activities and superb food and wine. The farmhouse, which was meticulously renovated in 2002, is spacious and equipped to a very high standard that we ourselves would like to find when on holiday. This extremely flexible accommodation is suitable for parties of all sizes. For 1 or 2 couples it is ideal, offering the ground floor and all the facilities - the upstairs rooms will be closed off and unoccupied. For larger groups the full accommodation is available plus all the facilities. The weekly rate will depend on the size of your party.

Changeover day
All prices are per week Saturday to Saturday, arriving at 5pm departing 10am. Linen and towels are provided, if used central heating is charged at cost.

Ground floor accommodation.
The salon is elegantly and comfortably furnished with sofas and easy chairs, digital Satellite TV, DVD, VCR and music centre. Fire - for the cooler months, and a varied selection of books and board games.
The kitchen is light and airy with seating for eight and, although very well equipped with gas cooker, dish washer, washing machine, microwave, tea towels, iron and ironing board, food processor, fridge/freezer, double sink with drainer, toaster, cool box and freezer blocks, it retains the traditional atmosphere of a farmhouse kitchen. A magnificent range of built-in wooden cupboards provides ample storage.
Double bedroom with en-suite shower room and twin bedded room with en-suite shower room.
First floor accommodation.
Double or twin bedded room, depending on your requirements, the beds can be made up as you wish. A second twin room. Large bathroom with bath, shower, basin, bidet and wc.
Sitting room with sofas and chairs, second TV and VCR.

Notes on accommodation
All bedrooms have hair dryers, electric blankets, bedlinen and bathroom towels - please bring your own pool towels. A cot and high chair are available on request. There is central heating for the cooler months and a telephone.

Outside
The 10 x 5m heated, salt system swimming pool is totally enclosed. A poolside abri provides shade during the hotter months. There are two large terraces on the southeast and southwest sides of the farmhouse with terrace furniture and portable barbecues. In the garden there is plenty of room to spread out and relax, play badminton, ball games or boules. There is a sand pit and paddling pool for little ones. Attached to the farmhouse there is a games room with a table tennis table and darts board.

Coast/Beach
The leisure lake at Lac de Gurson with boating, riding, tennis, crazy golf, a water shoot, a large sandy beach, assault course and several bars and restaurants is 6km. The beautiful Atlantic coastal resorts of Arcachon and Cap Ferret are within easy reach for a day trip.

Golf
Chateau Vigier's 18 hole golf course is 30 minutes, whilst the 9 hole course at Chateau Les Merles is 45 minutes.

Travel
For those travelling by plane, Bergerac airport is 45 minutes and Bordeaux – 1 hour 15 minutes. There are TVG stations at Libourne – 35 minutes and Bordeaux – 1 hour.
Travelling time by road to Paris 6 hours, Calais 9 hours and Caen 7h 15 minutes. The use of a car is essential for a holiday at Le Roc Nord.

Further details
Le Roc Nord is situated in a lovely position set amongst a working vineyard 1km from St. Vivien, half way between Bergerac and St.Emilion. There is a village shop, wine co-operative and tennis court in the village. Velines is 3km with shops, pharmacy, doctor’s surgery, hairdresser and bars. We are 15 minutes from the market towns of Montpon and Ste. Foy La-Grande, both with a good selection of super markets and restaurants. Well worth a visit are the nearby medieval towns of Bergerac, Perigueux and St. Emilion.
Situated in the heart of the world’s finest wine growing areas – Medoc, St Emilion, Pomerol and Bergerac are on the doorstep. We can also introduce you to our local vineyards that produce very good wines at most reasonable prices.
The medieval towns of Sarlat and Domme, and the prehistoric caves at Lascaux and Les Eyzies are within easy reach for a day trip. There is also an abundance of chateaux, fascinating Bastide towns and attractive villages to explore.

A deposit of 25% is requested on booking with the remainder and a returnable security deposit of £100 due 8 weeks before arrival.
