Château Les Roches is located in a hilltop medieval village (Mont-Saint-Jean) with unobstructed views of the countryside. The setting of Les Roches is picturesque and tranquil where one can unwind and feel completely relaxed. Les Roches is situated in the heart of Burgundy (Côte d’Or) and is within an easy reach of the famous Burgundy wine areas (including Chablis, Côte-de-Nuits, Côte-de-Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise), historical sites and popular places of interest.

Changeover day
We let the cottage on a weekly basis (we are flexible on the arrival day) as well as on a shorter-term basis (minimum of a 3 days). Arrival time: between 4pm - 7pm. Departure time: by 11am.
Accommodation

| Living Rooms: | The lounge includes a large sofa, sofa chair and wood-burning fireplace. There is also a large flat screen TV with over 400 channels (channels in various languages), DVD player, iPod and Bose docking station (for iPod). |

The cottage has a private sun-filled terrace fully equipped with two sun loungers and two chairs.
Golf
The nearest golf course is Chateau de Chailly and is only a 10 minute drive from Les Roches. Chateau de Chailly is one of the top three golf courses in the area and will challenge your long game as well as your approach shots (as nearly all the greens are raised and well protected by bunkers and water so your club selection is critical).
Special interest holidays
We are pleased to offer a Burgundy Cooking Experience with Alex Miles each Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The experience includes a guided visit of the Dijon food market in the morning and the cooking demonstration is then followed in a kitchen in Dijon. The Burgundy fare is enjoyed for lunch! Should you wish to participate in the experience, please let us know in advance. The cost is 150 euros per person. Alex Miles is a chef de cuisine and pastry chef. He has lived in France for over 25 years and has worked with the world famous Lenotre in Europe and in the US. He had 5 French pastry shops of his own in New York and lectures throughout France on French and American culinary history and culture.
The culinary experience, "French Family Food", is about cooking the dishes French people make at home. There will be a visit to the local market in the morning where produce and products will be selected on the spot for the luncheon meal.
Travel
The nearest airports are Paris Orly 2.5 hours drive. Paris Charles De Gaulle 3 hours drive. Geneva 3 hours drive and Lyon 3 hours drive. The distance from Calais is about 550km. By train, the largest train station is Dijon (60 minute drive).

Our guests in the Gardner's Cottage are very welcome to our dinners offered in the main building.
We offer home-cooked dinners twice per week, Thursdays and Saturdays, using regional and seasonal ingredients and we recommend matching Burgundy wines for each course. Many of our recipes are based on traditional Burgundy recipes which we have adopted to modern tastes. The dinner experience begins at 19h30 with an aperitif in the salon, set four-course meal in the candlelit dining room or terrace and ends with a coffee or tea in the library. The cost is €32 per person. The dinners need to be booked in advance.
We are pleased to offer a more casual dinner option on Mondays, "Monday Brasserie", as many of the local restaurants are closed on Mondays. Our Monday Brasserie will be open from 19h00 to 21h00 and our menu will have choices of starters, main courses and desserts.
On the other evenings, Sundays, Tuesdays through Wednesdays and Fridays, we offer cold-cut dinners consisting of a selection of cold cuts, selection of cheeses, salad and fresh bread. The cost is €19 per person. The cold cut dinners need to be booked in advance.
Our guests can also enjoy breakfast in the main building for 12 euro per person per breakfast.
Booking notes
To reserve the Gardener's Cottage, we require a 400 euros deposit, which is fully refundable if we are notified of the cancellation at least four weeks prior to the scheduled date of arrival. The deposit can be paid with a Visa or MasterCard (you can send us your credit card details: long number, expiration date and security code from the back of the card in two separate emails for security reasons or you can provide your credit card details over the phone by calling + 33 (0)3 80 84 32 71).

My name is Tobias and I am an American now living in France. I now own and run a B&B and self-catering cottage in Burgundy and love it! I really like meeting people from all over the world staying at Les Roches. My other passion is golf. I try to play 1-2 rounds per week. Looking forward to welcoming you to Les Roches!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I was looking for a change in life and wanted to get out of corporate life (I worked for Vodafone for 15 years). I spent about two years looking for a property in France and fell in love with Burgundy - its beautiful landscape, fantastic wines and amazing food!
