The tower flat is made up of the top (or second) floor of the villa as well as the tower. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, a large living room and 2 balconies. Though the flat retains the style and atmosphere of the belle époque with its high ceilings and long windows it does not lack modern comforts. Part of the garden belongs to the flat as well as 2 parking spaces by the house. Menton has a wonderful climate because the Alpes Maritime protect it from the Mistral and is an excellent centre for a holiday because of the great variety it offers. It is 5km from Monaco and 500m from Italy whilst the unspoilt villages of the Alpes Maritime are a short car journey away. In winter the ski slopes are 1½ hours drive from Menton and golf can be played at Mont Agel just above Monaco. Cleaning is provided between lets and towels and sheets are supplied.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. You must leave by 11am on the day of departure and not arrive until 4pm on the day of your arrival so that the cleaning lady can prepare the apartment.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with king-size double bed. Bedroom 2, 3 and 4 with twin beds. All room are very large. I restrict the visitors to 6 not because the flat cannot fit more but because I want to restrict wear and tear. |
| Bathrooms: | Bathroom 1 with WC, bath, bidet and basin. Bathroom 2 with WC, bath and basin. Bathroom 3 has shower, WC and basin. |
| Kitchen: | Kitchen has a cooker, hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer. The washing machine is in one of the bathrooms and the tumble drier is in the attic. It is very well equipped and is attractive because of the original Provencal tiles. |
| Utility Room: | In a cupboard in one of the bathrooms is a washing machine. The tumble dryer is in the attic. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room is dual aspect with wonderful views. 2 of the windows open onto a balcony where there is a table, chairs and 2 loungers. There are sofas, armchairs, a dining table and chairs, bookshelves, TV with DVD machine and hifi. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Sheets and towels are supplied but guests must bring their own beach towels. Cleaning is provided between lets. |

Accessibility
The flat is not suitable for people with mobility problems as there is a staircase and no lift.
Outside
The gardens surrounding the villa are very beautiful and provide a most peaceful setting for the flat. Part of the garden belongs specifically to the tower flat and it has a BBQ, loungers and table and chairs as well as a large round pond containing coy carp. The garden is famous and is included in many books about the gardens of France or of the Riviera. It is one of the 1001 gardens you must see before you die.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is 5 mins walk from the villa. There are many beaches in Menton as well as just over the border in Italy. The beaches are mainly pebbly and in Italy you can swim off the rocks and snorkle.
Golf
The nearest golf course is at Mont Agel behind Monaco and is about 6km away.
Skiing
Skiing at Isola 2000. Auron or Limone are about 1½ hour from the flat.
Travel
Nice airport is 45 mins drive away and easy jet have many flights a day from a number of UK airports. Cars can be hired from the airport or from Menton. If you do not want a car, we can arrange for a mini bus service to pick you up at the airport and take you straight to the flat. They will drive you back to the airport at the end of your stay. Menton is 800 miles from Calais and there is a daily motorail service to Nice from Calais.
Distances
Menton is the last coastal town in France so Italy is within walking distance. Monaco is 5km away and all the Riviera towns are within easy reach by car or train. The mountain villages of the Alpes Maritime, many perched on craggy summits, are a short drive away and wonderful unspoilt countryside can be enjoyed far from any crowds even in the heart of summer.
Further details
In February Menton holds a magnificent Lemon Festival and in August an internationally renowned music festival takes place in front of the baroque cathedral of St Michel.
In July and August Monaco puts on many spectacular firework displays which can be enjoyed whilst dining in a restaurant overlooking the port.
Christmas in Menton is very festive with a large Christmas market and wonderful Christmas lights which knock any in England into a cocked hat.

When making a booking 20% of the rent should be paid. The remaining 80% should be paid 8 weeks before the holiday begins.
