Le Vieux Chene is just outside a small and charming village near Albi 20km. It is a semi-detached stone house in a peaceful setting with pretty rose garden. The cottage has exposed beams and stone walls. On the ground floor, the property is tiled with ceramic floor tiles and upstairs there are wooden floors. It is surrounded by fields with a view over wooded hills. A perfect base to explore the local vineyards and fortress villages known as ‘bastides’ (Castelnau de Montmiral, Puycelsi, Penne, Bruniquel are a pleasant drive from the cottage). During the summer, there are many activities, classical or jazz concerts, theatre, fairs and our cats waiting to welcome you!

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. Please arrive from 4pm onwards and departure by 10am (local times).

| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Both bedrooms have wooden floors with rugs and exposed wooden beams, bedside tables, desk, wardrobe and chest of drawers and armchair. |

| Kitchen: | The kitchen is fully equipped with all cooking utensils and pans, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob, and electric barbecue for use on the terrace. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room is very light and airy with French doors onto the terrace and overlooking fields and woods. It has two armchairs and a sofa, coffee table, antique sideboard. The dining area has a round table with 4 chairs. |

Cleaning prior to the letting is included in the cost. All linen and towels are provided and included in the cost. |
Notes on accommodation
All rooms have electric radiators for cool autumn evenings. The cottage is suitable for children over 14. Smoking is not permitted within the gite and dogs are not allowed.

Accessibility
The cottage is on 2 levels and is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
In front of the cottage is a tiled terrace and under the old oak, there is a graveled terrace with dining table and seating for up to 8 people. An electric BBQ is supplied. The cottage has a charming garden with many rosebushes, where you can relax in a lounge chair and in the evenings watch the silent flight of bats.
Travel
The nearest airports are Toulouse and Rodez. By road A20 from Paris to Toulouse or by railway TGV Paris-Toulouse.
6km from the cottage there is a railway station Cordes-Vindrac to Toulouse and Albi.
Distances
The cottage is about 10km from Cordes, an ancient bastide town with shops and restaurants, commerce of all kinds and a weekly market. It is also about 10 mins from Castelnau de Montmiral and from Cahuzac, which also have shops and restaurants/cafes. Albi is about 20km away and Toulouse is about an hour.
Further details
San Antonin, Gallaic and Cordes have a morning market on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and on Thursday we have grocer's van with local produce including large choice of cheese. There is a large activity centre at Castelnau de Montmiral, with lakes for swimming, boating, pedalo, etc, and there are several golf courses nearby. There is also a swimming pool near Cordes (10 mins by car). The nearby ancient oak forest, Forêt de Gresigne offers pleasant walks.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required on booking, the balance to be paid not later than 6 weeks before the start of the letting with a deposit of £200 against damage/loss.
