Our aim is to offer total comfort and relaxation. The house & cottage have been recently converted into luxurious holiday accommodation for up to 16 people.
Located in the village of Boussais, which is centrally located between Parthenay, Thouars and Bressuire. It is about 15 mins from each of the towns and less than 10 minutes to Airvault, a small market town. Many of the local towns and villages have beautiful chateaux and spectacular medieval buildings, and cobbled lined streets which provide a beautiful backdrop to the weekly markets, and fetes which are held from spring through to Christmas. Boussais is 45 minutes from the historic cities of Niort, Saumur and Poitiers and the Theme Parks of Puy de fou and Futuroscope. The area has a vast array of chateaux and pretty villages. The area is ideal for country walks, cycling, bird watching and a wide range of sports are available nearby. Notes on prices
These prices for B&B are per room per night in euros. The house is in UK pounds.
In all cases a 25% deposit is required on booking. The full payment is required 8 weeks before commencement of self-catering rentals.

Changeover day
Saturday changeover during high season for Le Petit Manoir. Outside of high season we can be flexible. Arrival for B&B guests are everyday.

Accommodation

The guest living room is light and spacious and has lots of character with a large granite fireplace and log burner and the floor to ceiling bookcase makes the tall room feel even bigger. The leather sofas are the ideal place to read a book, watch a film, or listen music.
There is also UK satellite television. The room is light and cool in the summer and cosy and warm sat by the large log burner in the winter.
The kitchen is fitted with oak units and black granite worktops. A dishwasher, large five ring cooker and American style fridge/freezer.
The house has a wi-fi connection for guests wishing to use their laptops.
All of the four spacious bedrooms en suite facilities with heated towel radiators and quality bathroom fittings.
There is one double, three triples (a king size bed & a single bed ) and the possibility of another single bed and a cot.
Each bedroom has a wonderful view of the long front garden and potager and into the surrounding fields and countryside.

 

Notes on accommodation
For guests staying B&B a generous continental breakfast is served each morning. A choice of cereals, toast, croissants, honey and jams, often homemade, are accompanied by fresh fruit, yoghurts and free-range eggs and a selection of juice, teas and coffee. Breakfast is usually served in the large kitchen, or outside, weather permitting. The evening usually starts at around 7.30 with an aperitif and is followed by a four course meal, which is accompanied by wine, and to bring the meal to a relaxing end, coffee is served in the guest lounge. The cost is 25 euros per adult and 12 euros for children 5-15, under 5's are free. Our meals are freshly prepared using local produce and home grown fresh vegetables. We provide good honest home cooked food with French and English influences and sometimes a touch of Spanish because we used to live there. We are happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, please telephone or email if you have any questions. Tea & coffee.

Accessibility
As the house and garden are on many levels it is not very accessible.

Outside
The house is surrounded by over 2 acres of garden and grounds and has a quiet country lane to the other side. There a several different seating areas around the garden from which you can relax, take in the sun, read a book or enjoy the view. To the rear of the house is a sun trapped courtyard that is an array of colour with all the pots and baskets and a lovely place to enjoy an early evening drink. We have a large pond overlooked by a giant oak tree. A lovely place to shade from the sun on one of the loungers. In Spring 2009 a 10x5m swimming pool is being installed.

Coast/Beach
The coast and all it has to offer is a 90 minutes drive. I can highly recommend La Rochelle, Europe's largest marina and the Ile de Re, both of which have wonderful beaches, restaurants and shops.
A good day out well within driving distance.

Golf
The nearest Golf Course is Le Petit Chene at Mazieres en Gatine. The course is 30 minutes from Boussais. It has an 18 hole course and a 6 hole pitch n putt.

Travel
We are ideally situated for those heading to South and South-West France and on to Spain or Portugal. Leave the A85 at Saumur and pick up the A10 at Niort. We are 45 minutes from these two junctions and it would take you just as long on the peage due to the long detour by Poitiers. We are 6 hours from Calais/Boulogne and 4 Hours from Caen/ Cherbourg. Nantes, La Rochelle and Tours airports are 90 minutes away. Poitiers only 45 minutes.

Distances
We are in a small village which has a small shop with a bar/restaurant/tabac/post attached. The shop has most basics and the restaurant serves a good 4 course lunch.

Further details
The area has a wide range of sports available from cycling to horseriding, windsurfing to hot air ballooning, Golf to tennis. Look at our website or ask for details.

Booking notes
A deposit of 25% is required to secure the booking. The remainder is required 8 weeks before the commencement of the holiday.
