A traditional stone farmhouse (newly renovated 2008) surrounded by beautiful Breton countryside in a hamlet 1m from Yvignac and 15 mins away from the unique city of Dinan. There are restaurants and shopping in nearby town of Broons while Dinan, probably the best preserved medieval city in France, has wonderful restaurants, pavement cafes and a fabulous traditional market. The delights and daily markets of Rennes are only 40 mins away. It is well positioned for easy access to the stunning Bretagne coast with miles of surprisingly empty beaches, coastal walks and seafood at prices we can only dream of in Britain. The fully furnished house (non smoking) has its own south facing courtyard with patio and pool from June to Sept only and can comfortably sleep six/eight people. With modern bathrooms and electric central heating, with bed linen provided (not towels). Travelling is easy as it is only 35 minutes from Dinard airport (Ryanair) and 40 minutes from St Malo (Brittany Ferries).

All new crockery and utensils provided for 8 and of course a wine rack!
Living Rooms: A mixture of modern and traditional, all centred round a wood burning stove. A spacious and comfortable living area with new leather sofas. UKTV/Sky and DVD/CD recorder/player.Ipod docking station

The decked courtyard is south facing and has the sun all day and is ideal for relaxing with 2 loungers and patio table, parasol and chairs.

Coast/Beach
St Briac, Dinard and St Jacut-de-la-Mar are the nearest coastal towns about 35 mins away and they are all very pretty and well worth exploring. The coast itself is truly fabulous. We haven’t explored it all but there are miles of beautiful sandy beaches in each direction, so you are sure to find one which is your favourite, and if you enjoy walking the coastal path is stunning. St cast the beaches are fantastic 7 in all to choose from and not crowded best by far. (28/05/11).

Ferry: Brittany Ferries - Portsmouth St Malo (40 minute drive), Portsmouth - Caen (2 hour drive), Poole - Cherbourg (2 hr 30 min drive), Plymouth Roscoff (1 hr 45 min drive). LD Lines - Portsmouth - Le havre (2hr 45 min drive). Condor - Portsmouth - Cherbourg, Poole - St Malo. The channel tunnel at Calais is about a 5 hour drive.

1m Yvignac La tour, 5 mins to Broons, 15 mins to Dinan Too many places of interest to list here - but include river walks, chateau, a zoo, beaches, many historic towns and villages, boat trips, ruined forts, open air swimming pools (at Lehon), horse riding, fishing.

Further details
Local restaurant in Yvignac (1 mile) provides an excellent plat de jour at a reasonable costs with 3 further restaurants in Broons (5 miles). Supermarkets in Caulnes and Broons. Cycling and walking paths are numerous. Local guides can be picked up in Yvignac La tour post office.

Booking notes
Rental periods are from Saturday to Saturday. We ask for a deposit of 25% at time of booking, with the balance 4 weeks before arrival. A returnable deposit of £200 is required.

About the owner
Bobby and Shirley Ormond arrived in France May 07 for the weekend. Purpose? To buy a property to renovate and live in France for 8 mths. We found La Bossiere that's it. From idea to reality was only 2 weeks we decided to regret doing it rather than living with the regret of not doing it, as in this life you only have one go. Arrived Aug 07 and started our 8 month adventure. Kids 6 and 11 went to local schools and we started work on the house, moved in Jan 08 with the main rooms complete. We had a wonderful experience and our time in France will remain as one of the best times of our lives.
