Notes on accommodation
We do have a lovely Golden Retriever who is very good with children - but parents with small children perhaps should always remember she is around the place as she is not averse to stealing childrens soft toys - or pilfering food if its left about!
Accessibility
The 16th Century wasn't particularly kind to those with mobility problems - and the Manoir still isn't in the 21st Century - so do consider this when considering booking.
Coast/Beach
Utah beach long clean and uncrowded is perhaps 10 minutes away and has long stretches of clean sands - ideal for romantic walks - or landing 500,000 soldiers and an armoured brigade! Carteret (opposite Jersey) perhaps 20 minutes drive and Bayeux - around 40 minutes, Le Mont St Michel is an hours drive away - a bit longer in summer.
Golf
There are several golf courses quite near to the Manoir - although sadly we don’t play golf ourselves. However if you’d care to bring your bats along friends say that the courses at Granville and Omaha are excellent and the club course near to Quinaville is fun.
Travel
From the port of Cherbourg the Manoir is perhaps 35 minutes drive. From Caen 40-45 minutes.
Distances
St Mere Eglise is c.7 minutes and the local village only c.3-5 minutes. The Manoir is ideally located for ease of access to Historic Normandy - whether of second World War fame or the Normans builders - its all just close by and waiting.
Further details
The tiny hamlet now has a new restaurant only 100 yards from the Manoir with local and Italian cuisine.
Booking notes
Please contact the owners direct by phone or e-mail to arrange reservations. The B&B directly helps run Ben's Spitfire - shown on the last photo - and is known to us as 'The Spitfire Fund' - which is why he is usually so happy to see people!
