In the heart of Southern Brittany's beautiful countryside rests Vine and Wisteria Cottage, part of a small hamlet within a conservation area, of which the peace and tranquillity has hardly changed since the reign of Louis XIV. With beautiful vaulted ceilings, highlighting wonderful beams and a huge Breton fireplace forming the heart of each cottage. Discover at your leisure almost 1 acre of garden complete with outdoor spa, un potager full of flowers, herbs and vegetables, all of which you are welcome to sample. Our family of 5 delightful chickens and two ducks will also supply you with fresh eggs. Nevedic wood has many paths leading to the Blavet river and the small town of Quistinic can be reached this way if you do not wish to drive. A cycle/footpath runs beside the river passing through towns & hamlets. Poul Fetan, the 16th Century Museum of French Culture is 5 minutes away and makes for a perfect day out with costumed hosts and a tavern selling local cider and Breton meals.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. However out of season we are flexible. We will always try to meet your requirements where possible, so please do not hesitate in asking.

Wisteria Cottage (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4)

| Master double bedroom with en-suite shower, vanity sink unit with lighting and power point and WC. Twin bedroom has separate shower, vanity sink unit with lighting and power point and WC. Both bedrooms have vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. The lounge has a feature Breton fireplace with wood burning stove that heats radiators throughout the property, two Italian leather sofas and an oak coffee table. Satellite television is provided, (bring your own Skycard if you wish) DVD and CD player. There is also a selection of DVDs, books and games. Fully fitted kitchen/dining area has traditional units with plenty of work surfaces, a built in oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, cafetiere, ironing board and iron. There is a pine dining table and four chairs. High quality bedlinen, towels and tea cloths are provided. | |
Notes on accommodation
Both cottages have wood burning stoves, fire alarm and fire extinguisher. WiFi is also available. Discounts are available for single person occupancy and late bookings out of the main summer season, please ask for details. A maid and laundry service is available at a small extra charge.
Outside
The garden is mainly laid to lawn, with a number of flower borders. There is also an orchid and vegetable plot. A barbecue is available for your use and many out of door games including badminton, hand ball, chess and bowls. The hot tub spa is available throughout the high season at no extra cost. Patio table and chairs, and sun lounges are provided.
Coast/Beach
There are many beaches within a 40 minute drive depending on your taste. From soft sandy beaches with very safe swimming, to rugged coastline.

Within an hours drive.
Travel
The Ferry ports of Saint Malo and Roscoff are approximately 2.5 hours. drive. Caen, Cherbourg and Le Havre 3 to 4 hrs. drive. The nearest airport is Lorient 3/4 hour, Rennes, approximately 1 1/2 hours drive where car hire is available. Dinan and Brest airports 2 hours drive. Check Flybe and Ryanair for cheap flights.
Distances
Poul Fetan a museum of Breton's historical culture is just a short walk away, with a tavern and restaurant, open throughout the summer season and week-ends during the Winter. The weir and boating lock on the river Blavet is just 15 minutes walk away, were you will find a bar with outside tables and chairs serving light snacks during the summer season.
Further details
Our local shops are in Quistinic, with a small general store, bread/cake shop, chemist, post office and bar with creperie, all within a 8 minute drive from Nevedic. Bubry which is a 15 minutes drive away has our nearest supermarket, a number of bars and restaurants and take-aways. There are many recommended restaurants in the aera. The area is very popular for fishing and the Blavet river is within walking distance of Vine and Wisteria Cottage.
Booking notes
To secure a cottage a deposit of £50 per week booked, is required within 7 days of making a provisional booking. Final payment is required within 8 weeks of visit date. Bookings made within this period must be paid in full within 7 days of making a booking. Payment is by cheque or electronically using PayPal (a charge applies). A Security Damages deposit of £80 is required and made with final payment. Refunds are dispatched within 7 days of departure.
Optional end of stay cleaning £20 & £15.

About the owner
Ron is fron Edinbrugh and I am from the North East of England. Having worked in banking, then in tourism for many years, running our own Gite business was a natural progression. However, Ron was a training instructor so this move has been a revelation to him.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought Munro Brittany Cottages in December 2005. Our search began in Brittany and went as far as Limoges, but nothing could compare to the beauty of this area. Ron moved in to begin the renovation work in May 2006. The draw was too much and instead of waiting a year I joined Ron in October. After many challenges Vine Cottage began business in March 2008. Wisteria Cottage was an even bigger challenge but we got there in the end and that opened in April 2009. I am proud of our hard work and the business is going from strength to strength. What was once a field is now a beautiful garden and is home to our chickens and ducks, as well as orchard, veggie plot and flower beds.
Unique benefits of the property
The scenery and tranquillity of the immediate area is the first thing that impresses everyone and it can all be viewed without getting in a car. A short walk will take you to the Blavet river where you can marvel at it's beauty over a coffee or a glass of wine bought at the riverside cafe.
However, within a short car ride there is everything you could wish for, from shopping to sight seeing. Amazing walks along rugged cliff top to safe swimming on sandy beaches or mastering man made rapids in a kayak. We have it all come and join us.
