Gite and B&B accommodation built in Charentais stone set in 2 acres with safe and secure gounds and surrounded by sunflower and cornfields. With a 15' splash pool we are Child friendly with bikes, swings, slide and 15' netted trampoline. Perfect for families, couples or singles. Our gite has been renovated with lots of character but with modern comforts at prices that are affordable. 5 mins to all amenites including shops, banks, cafes and supermarkets. Within 10 minutes you'll come to the Charente river for swimming or to the Villefagnan leisure lake and beach. The RN10 is easily accessible, airports are 25 and 50 minutes away and the TGV stops at Ruffec. Enjoy the sun, the beautiful scenery and visit the theme and wildlife parks, pretty towns and churches.

Flexible, we know how difficult and costly it is to book weekend flights. Just ask, we are on site.

| Bedrooms: | 2 large bright double bedrooms both with en-suite shower rooms which can be arranged to suit individual requirements. King size bed in 1 room, double or twin in the other. Electric radiators. Cot available. |
| Bathrooms: | Each en-suite has high quality fittings including a large corner shower, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water, wc and sink plus electric heated towel rails. |
| Kitchen: | Large open plan, well equipped light kitchen with under counter fridge/freezer, new gas cooker with 4-ring hob, grill and oven, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and everything you would expect in a kitchen. |
| Living Rooms: | The kitchen/diner and lounge are open-plan. The dining area has an extendable table seating up to 6. The lounge has 2, 3 seater sofas and foot stool, coffee table and wood burner. Access to front and rear gardens. Electric rads. |

All bed linen and bath towels provided and the rooms will be prepared for your arrival. Please bring your own pool towels. Cleaning between rentals. |
Notes on accommodation
The house and garden are safe, secure and child-friendly. Ideal for days out for sightseeing or for the family plenty to do - Futuroscope Theme Park in Poitiers, Parc Animalier, Isle au Serpent, Vallee de Singe and even a day pottery painting, which is a real favourite as you can take a souvenir home with you. Outside
The property has 2 acres of safe, secure grounds with a beautiful shady orchard full of plum, cherry and walnut trees, nice to relax under to escape the sun and watch the vegetables growing. The 15' splash pool has a removable ladder for safety. For the children there is 15' netted trampoline, swings and a slide as well as a play den equipped with a play kitchen, table, chairs and cushions. Outdoor barbecue and garden furniture. For the more energetic we have bikes for all ages.
Coast/Beach
Fab river and lake beaches are between 10 mins away at Le Rejallant and Villefagnan. There are also superb lakes, bathing and fishing at in the Haut Charente plus sailing and windsurfing on the St Yrieux lake in Angouleme. La Rochelle and other coastal resorts are within easy reach incuding less St George de Didon that also has catamaran sailing and you can strap yourself to a wire and walk suspended in the trees.
Golf
Golf du Cognac is a stress - free 40 mins drive located on the banks of the river Charente between Cognac and Jarnac, this course is a gently-sloping course with 3 ponds twisting and turning between vineyards and woodland. Experienced golfers will enjoy playing holes 12, 15 and 17 which are particularly difficult.
Travel
We are easy to get by road and rail. Plent of cheap flights to Angouleme (25 mins), Poitiers (50 mins), Limoges (90 mins), Bordeaux (120 mins) and La Rochelle (120 mins) all have car hire. The nearest ferry ports are at Caen (5 hrs) and St Malo, Calais, Boulogne or Dieppe and the Channel Tunnel (7 hrs). The TGV stops at Ruffec!
Distances
Ruffec centre is only 3 miles away with a variety of shops and restaurants, market days are Wednesday and Saturday. Angouleme centre is 25 minutes, Poitiers 50 minutes. Having children of our own we have investigated a lot of the theme and nature parks, plus activity centres. All details can be found at the gite.
Further details
We have 2 acres to run around in. A large orchard full of plum, cherry and walnut trees, great for a shady spot on hotter days. We are growing our own vegetables, herbs and salad and, all going well, are available for your use as well as any fruits that have ripened. Listen to the cicades and just relax. If you have children watch them run riot and wear themselves out on the trampoline which is undercover so is suitable to use in all weathers.
