Notes on accommodation
Each property has it's own private pool. The farmhouse pool and gardens are totally private for guests. La Petite Tour has it's own grounds and is just a short walk away from the farmhouse.The villa and farmhouse can be booked separately, or together for larger groups. There is a 5% discount for a two week booking or more at either property & 5% discount if both properties are booked for the same dates.Low/mid season 10% discount for small groups. Each property: Selection of DVD and CD'S available. All heating/ climate control, linen/towels/pool towels included. Fresh linen provided at the end of the 1st week for 2 week bookings. Statutory pool alarms. Welcome packs on arrival for each property, these include breakfast essentials, cleaning materials (villa and farmhouse). Cot and high chairs (no extra charge). Baby sitting available. Information brochures. Extra cleaning on request.
Accessibility
La Petite Tour has small step up to ground floor accommodation, access through large French doors make it possible for easy wheelchair access.
Outside
La Petite Tour: Ample patio furniture including relaxers and chairs, plastic for pool (10x5m) area and wooden for dining area. 2 tables (wooden for dining and some plastic for pool areas). Pools are alarmed with regulation alarms and full instructions are given and listed at the properties. Each pool has a shallow end and steps for access, tiled surround. Large grass areas for ball games away from pool and property. Le Petit Garem farmhouse:3 acres of gardens with large pool 12x6m, pool terrace,separate covered terrace with bbq and kitchen terrace.
At each property there are outside tables and chairs for dining and separate loungers/chairs for sunbathing. There are also potted plants on each terrace.
Coast/Beach
Arcachon on the Atlantic coast approx 2.5hrs. There are lakes in the region with outdoor activities such as canoeing etc.
Golf
Perigueux 20km 18 hole, practise ranges, lessons, open to all, details in accommodation brochure. Lessons can be booked.
Travel
Limoges and Bergerac airport 1¼ hour approx. Bordeaux approx 2hrs. A car is necessary and car hire is available from each airport. Calais 500 miles.
Distances
Eyvirat village 1.5km. Agonac 8km. Brantome 11km. Perigueux 20km.
Further details
Brantome has many good restaurants, bars and cafes, miniature museum, traditional fetes, events and fairs throughout the season. It is famous for its Abbey and is nicknamed 'Little Venice' as it is surrounded by water.
There are many caves in the region which are open to the public, details in the brochure. Perigueux is the capital of the Dordogne and has the oldest museum of prehistory, cobbled streets, many shops, restaurants, bars etc.
Sarlat on the Dordogne river is approx 1 hour drive. Very picturesque. Owners will book restaurants if required.

15% deposit to secure a booking, and a signed rental agreement(view & print off, on our website at www.villaindordogne.com) Balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival.There is a returnable £250 security bond payable with the balance. 5% discount for a 2 week booking or two properties booked together during the same week/s. Abigail and Glenn Bailes.
We are from the NE of England and divide our time between the UK and France, having business interests in both.
Abigail's background is nursing and was brought up in a forces family, so travelled extensively. Glenn has a farming background and interests in horses and wildlife.
We have 3 grown up independent children.
We have renovated many homes over the years and during the 1990's we owned seven farm holiday cottages in Teesdale, for 5 years.
We always view and manage our properties against our own high expectations!
Our aim is for holiday accommodation of the highest standard and the best possible value for money.
We pride ourselves on improving each property every year, so those guests who return on a regular basis will always see an improvement & extra

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We chose near Brantome in the Dordogne as we had travelled extensively around the coast of France looking for a coastal location,as we love the sea.Glenn spoke fluent French from working on the island of Taihiti during his 20's.However,we happened on Brantome by accident and loved the atmosphere, countryside etc.When we viewed Le Petit Garem our 45 acre farm we fell in love with it before we even entered the house.We think it idyllic and unique.We also enjoyed the lakes in this part of France,which have all the benefits of sand beaches,water sports,sailing etc. Therefore we thought we had more than enough reasons and more, to convince us to buy inland and we are only 2.5 hrs from the sea!Perfect holiday area for all ages and interests. We have English managers of 4 years, David and Kareen.
Unique benefits of the property
We had the pleasure of meeting many kind neighbours following our move to France in August 2004. During our first winter we bought some land for sale close by and always up for new projects we decided to build the new villa- La Petite Tour. This decision obviously then led on to the possibility of a rental holiday property.
The villa has been purpose built as a holiday home. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and the communal areas are open, light,spacious and comfortable for the full quota of occupants.There are beautiful views from the pool & terrace.
The two properties are very individual and very close to each other; just 10 mins (slow walk) from the farm to the villa. This means the properties are ideal to be let separately or as a multiple for larger parties or more privacy.
