La Maison Penchee (The Leaning House) is an imposing granite-built property on the edge of a small town with open views to front and rear. It is fully refurbished whilst retaining the original 19th Century features. There is a large lounge/dining room for the use of guests.

Complimentary shampoo and shower gel. Soft white towels. wardrobe. Suitcase stand, 2 comfortable chairs. Bedside tables with lights. Heating by wall mounted electric heater.
Twin room. Two large single divan beds. All white cotton and linen bed linen. Fitted wardrobe. Suitcase stand, full length mirror, bedside tables with lamps. 2 comfortable chairs. Central heating radiator. En-suite has cabin shower, toilet and wash basin with mirror, overhead light and razor socket. Heated towel rail. Extractor fan, soft white towels.
Both rooms have complimentary shower gel and shampoo. Hair dryer. Spare blankets. Sewing kit. Alarm clock. Selection of books. Tea making facilities including 6 varieties of tea, coffee. Fresh milk every day. Bottled water.

 

Notes on accommodation
Lounge/dining room for guests use. Comfortable settee and easy chairs. Centrally heated for all year round use. Extensive library and quantity of games. We do not have facilities for young children. Pets considered.

Accessibility
Not suitable for people with mobility problems - stairs and steps.

Outside
Parking available behind gates or on the wide road outside. The lawned walled garden is available to relax in. We have recliners and wooden table and chairs. There is always a shady area.

Coast/Beach
A lake beach 5 kilometres away with children's playground and crazy golf in season. Woodland walks and sandy beach.

Golf
Testing golf course at Gouzon, 20 kilometres away.

Special interest holidays
Art classes with qualified tutor (skilled artist) can be arranged at the house or alfresco.

Travel
Limoges One and a half hours drive. Car hire recommended. Six and a half hours plus from Caen Ferry port.

Aubusson 15km. Tapestry town with Museum and factory visits. Gueret 18km. Administrative centre, Les loups de Chabriers, Le Labyrinthe Geant. Ahun 5km. Roman church. Moutier d'Ahun 5km. Roman bridge and Abbey.

Further details
Walking distance to two small supermarkets, pharmacy, wine merchant and bakery. Fine carp and trout fishing region.
