Villa U Pozzu is a south facing villa in Fayence, a hill top village dating back to medieval times. It is set n large half acre secluded, level grounds with mature tall cypress and fruit trees. The 10 x 5m pool is southfacing with a large terrace for sunbathing. The property is less than 5 minutes drive to the local well stocked supermarket - very handy for freshly baked croissants in the morning. Close to the supermarket one finds the local municipal swimming courts, tennis courts and several restaurants and cafes. Fayence village is a further 5 minute drive which holds thrice weekly markets in the village square infront of the villages' ancient church. Fayence maintains a year long programme of social events including antiques fairs, choral singing events, car rallying etc. From the village one has a panoramic view over the valley. The villa is well placed to explore the local perched villages and is an hours drive to the Riviera coast!

Notes on accommodation
Fayence is one of the larger perched villages, the others are Callian, Seillan and Montaroux. They all have beautiful scenery typical of Provence. Lac St Cassien is just 15 minutes away and offers watersports- windsurfing, rowing, pedaloing, swimming and fishing. Less than an hours drive away is The Esterel National Park with its spectacular peaks and natural beauty. There are wonderful caves with impressive stalactites at Grottes St Cezaire - all within an hours drive. The Gorge du Verdon - France's equivalent to the Grand Canyon - is further away. One can enjoy the spectacular beauty of the area or indulge in the watersports: whitewater rafting, canoeing, swimming etc.

Outside
Large secluded level private garden. Lots of space for ball games. Parking for 4cars. A table tennis table is provided. Tennis raquets/balls are in the garage - nearby tennis courts can be hired. Immediately outside the kitchen is a covered terrace which is lit at night allowing dining outside. Garden furniture includes a solid teak table with 6 teak chairs, 4 teak sun-loungers with cushions and 2 sun parasols. There is a gas-fired barbeque. 3 bicycles are available for use. The south facing 10 x 5m pool lies in front of the villa. There is ample room for soaking up the sun on the terrace. In keeping with French Law, the pool is alarmed . Towards sunset the pool and garden lights combine with the sound of the cicadas to make a magical evening.
Coast/Beach
The nearest coastal beaches are at St Rafael/Frejus - about 40 minutes away - offering long sandy beaches and coves. Theoule near Cannes offer stunning cliffs with their dramatic drops to the sea. The Riviera coastal drive is an hours away from Cannes to Monaco- but gets very busy in high season.
Golf
There are 2 golf courses 15 minutes away at tourette de fayence - the new Terre Blanche 18 hole course and Le Riou. Other courses within 30 minute drive include the golf at st Endreol at La Motte.
Skiing
Ski resorts within a 2 hour drive include the well-known resort of Isola 2000 (ideal for beginners) and Foux d'Allos (which is good for off-piste skiing).
Travel
Use of a car is essential as local transport is infrequent. Nice airport is 45 minutes away while Marseille is 2 hours away.
By Car Fayence is approximately 1,100 Km from Calais via motorway to Aix-en-Provence and then on towards Nice.
The high speed TGV train service links Paris or Lille with Marseille or Nice.

Seillans, Tourettes, Callian, Montaroux, Bargemon : 10-20 minutes drive.
Lac St. Cassien: stunning freshwater lake with watersports: 15 minutes drive.
Cannes/Antibes: The glamourous 'La Croisette' waterfront marina of Cannes. Luxury Yachts in Antibes' Port Vauban harbour. Marine sealife centre in Antibes : 40 minutes
Frejus: Roman ruins and amphitheatre, aquatica waterpark: 45 minutes.
Grasse/Mougins: The worlds 'Capital of Perfume' : 30 min
Booking notes
Price is fully inclusive of gas electricity, linen and cleaning prior to and after your stay. Pool towels included. To book please email us with your inquiry. Deposit of 20% secures your reservation. The balance must be paid 2 months prior to the start of your rental period. for those booking within 2 months of the holiday arrival date the whole rental must be paid at the time of booking.
Please ensure that you take out adequate holiday/travel insurance. Security deposit of £300.
