This beautiful, large alpine style apartment (built 2004) is finished to an extremely high standard and is very well equipped. The large spacious living area has 2 sets of french doors, which open onto a large sunny balcony with stunning views across the valley. The apartment is situated in the centre of Les Contamines which is a beautiful, traditional and unspoilt winter & summer resort nestled below Mont Blanc. The central location of this apartment makes it an ideal choice for those who want to be near the slopes but who also want to be close to the shops, restaurants and supermarkets. For those who do not wish to walk the 10mins to the cable car there is a shuttle bus which stops right outside the apartment (5min journey to the slopes). In order to maximise your time on the slopes we can organise private transfers from Geneva airport, a variety of welcome packs and a hot meal can also be organised for you on the day of your arrival. Bed linen for 4 people is included in the price. Extra bed linen & towels can be provided for a small extra charge. We do however provide all basic non-food items e.g. kitchen towel, toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, washing powder etc. |
Notes on accommodation
The apartment is one of only 2 apartments on the 4th floor (top floor) which give it enviable unobstructed views of Mont Joly and the valley beneath it. A barrier accesses the car park at the front of the building guaranteeing outdoor parking spaces. We however have our own private covered garage. The building also has a lift.

Outside
There is a large south-west facing balcony (11m²). The balcony is perfect for dining outside as it has a table and chairs and deckchairs are also available for sunning yourself.
Skiing
Les Contamines is trully a hidden gem. This charming village has one of the most enviable snowfall records. The north facing slopes are perfect for all abilities and most importantly the 125km of well maintained pistes remain quiet and uncrowded throughout the ski season. For snow boarders there is a snow park (championship level) and a half-pipe. Cross-country skiers are also well catered for. There are two nursery slopes in the village. The local ski pass is linked to the town of Hauteluce and there is also an “Evasion Mont Blanc” pass which covers another 420km of skiing in St Gervais, Megeve and Combloux. Other resorts to try are Chamonix, Les Houches, Argentiere and Courmayeur in Italy (30mins). Other winter activities in Les Contamines are, snowmobiles rides, dog sledding, snowshoeing and ice-skating. The ski school has plenty of English speaking instructors. We offer all our clients a discount on ski hire from the ski hire shop beside our apartment.

The Village: Les Contamines can offer you a great selection of bars, restaurants, creperies and shops including several ski rental shops. There are 2 supermarkets, a bank, post office, ATM machines, bakeries, butcher shop and an excellent and very helpful tourist office. There is a weekly market in the village and during the summer the village is a hive of activity with the many outdoor concerts, international tennis competition, fetes etc taking place. The village organises a weekly entertainment programme during the summer months for both adults and children.
Summer activities: The charming village of Les Contamines is the perfect location for your summer holidays. It has something for all the family be it sporting or just relaxing and taking in the amazing views. The leisure park has a boating lake and a new swimming lake (500m2) surrounded by a man-made beach (lifeguards are on duty). There is also trampolining, a golf driving range, 8 championship tennis courts, crazy golf, various levels of assault courses in the trees, donkey rides, horse riding and playgrounds. From here you also take the cable car up the mountains where there are numerous walks for all levels of abilities and why not stop off and have lunch in one of the many mountain restaurants. Other activities to try are rock climbing, mountain biking, the Tour de Mont Blanc or try horseback riding in the moutains where you can overnight in one of the refuges. There is so much to do in Les Contamines but if you do feel like a change why not explore the nearby towns of Megeve, Annecy, Chamonix and Yvoire and we are also less than 30 mins drive from the Swiss and Italian borders. Other notable trips worth taking are the cable car trip to the top of the Aiguille de Midi (3842m) in Chamonix and the Montenvers railway to the Mer de Glace and ice caves. You will never tire of things to do and see in Les Contamines and its surrounds.
Booking notes
Deposit of 25% required to secure booking. The balance must be paid 4 weeks before the rental period. Bed linen for 4 people is included in the price. Extra bed linen and towels can be provided for a small extra charge. There is an additional payment of £150 (€200) deposit to cover any damage or breakages. This will be returned to you after the holiday once the apartment is left in good condition. Weekend/long weekends will be considered in low season.
