Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday and you asked to be ready to vacate by 10am while incoming guests are asked to arrive between 4pm and 6pm.

Notes on accommodation
For the winter and the colder months, there is both central heating, a wood burning stove and an open fire. For the summer, there are fans in all bedrooms and we recommend that the shutters are kept closed during the very hot days to maintain a cool temperature inside. Not suitable for very young children.

Accessibility
The property is on 2 levels but is built on a slope so that there is disabled access on either level from the outside. While not specifically adapted for wheelchair users, disabled friends find access easy.
Outside
There are 2 small gardens. The 1 at the side of the house has a lawn with olive trees and a small terrace with a table and chairs suitable for breakfast.
The courtyard garden has a private pool 10m x 3m and a dining area complete with parasols and pergola. There are 2 dining tables and 12 chairs if you wish to entertain. There is a summer kitchen with cooking facilities, sink and barbecue. The small garden is full of flowers and trees and sculptures. There are wooden reclining sun loungers and mattresses and others outside chairs.
Coast/Beach
The Lac Ste Croix is a very large artificial lake about 10-15 mins drive away. There are beaches with imported sand and windsurfing and sailing rentals and schools. For visiting the Gorges de Verdon (the French Grand Canyon), there are pedalos and canoes. Walking in this area is highly recommended and guided trips can be organised or the French system of GR routes make self-guided walks relatively easy.
Golf
There are golf course at about 40 minutes from Aups. Details can be supplied if needed.
Travel
There is a choice of 3 airports all within approximately 1 1/2 hours of Aups: Marseilles, Toulon and Nice. British Airways and EasyJet fly into Marseilles and Nice and, currently, Ryanair into Toulon but that might change. A hire car is essential and if coming into Nice during July and August, it is recommended that you use an off airport firm that will pick you up as it can take over 2 hours to get your rental car from the big companies.
Distances
Aups is within walking distance which is ideal for Wednesday and Saturday market. Villages Perchés such as Tourtour and Cotignac, and Salernes, the handmade tile village are within 20 mins drive. The Abbeys of Thoronet and Silvercain are approximately half an hour away. Aix en Provence is an hour away. St Tropez is an hour away in the winter and 5 hours in the summer! Depending on where you want to go on the Cote D'Azur, the journey should take 1- 1/2 hours in winter and double in summer.
Further details
Aups has a market twice a week, a bank, a reasonable supermarket, and several restaurants. Nearby villages also have a market once a week and some very good restaurants. If you would like a guide, we can organise that for you.

A deposit of 25% of the rent will be payable to us on signing of the rental agreement with the remainder payable in full 1 month before the start of the holiday.
All holidays are for a minimum of 1 week from Saturday to Saturday.
