Charm and an abundance of serenity, this cottage is set in the romantic honey-coloured village of Saint-Vincent-de-Cosse. Les Hortensias is ideal for 6 guests. With its secluded gardens and sunny courtyard, the cottage gives the feel of being in peaceful countryside, yet offers village security and the community spirit. For walkers there are many footpaths starting from the house, indeed within the village there is Roman road and the Dordogne river is a ten minute walk away. Within easy reach are the medieval town of Sarlat, the amazing cave systems of Perigord, the spectacular chateaux of Castelnaud, Beynac, Montfort and Milandes and the troglodyte villages of La Roque Gageac and St Christophe, Les Hortensias is the ideal base to discover the 'Golden Triangle' of the Dordogne or to just relax in!

Changeover day is usually Saturday (but we are willing to consider other days).

Accessibility
We regret that because all the bedrooms are set on the first floor, the house is not suitable for elderly people or for wheelchairs.
Outside
There is a secluded front garden with hydrangeas and rose trees with a marble topped table and 4 chairs. At the back of the house is a charming enclosed courtyard with a large wooden table, 8 chairs, a parasol and a BBQ. A small stone staircase leads up onto a another secluded garden offering shady and sunny areas to sit.
Coast/Beach
The Dordogne River is a convenient 3 mins drive from the house - you will find a rocky beach, canoes to hire, tables for picnics and restaurants to snack.

Also at Saint-Vincent-de-Cosse you can take a tour on the trees!
Golf
There is a 18 hole golf course 14km from the house (golfenaquitaine.com/lolivarie)
Travel
The nearest airport is Bergerac Airport 50 mins. Other airports; Toulouse (2 hours), Limoges (2.5 hours), Bordeaux (2 hours). Car hire is strongly recommended. Driving from Paris is approx 4.5 hours and Spain 3 hours.
Distances
Les Hotensias is an ideal spot from which to explore the pretty riverside villages such as Beynac and La Roque Gageac, seemingly impossibly built into the side of a cliff.
The medieval Sarlat, the bastides of Domme and Limeuil, where the Dordogne River and Vezere River meet, Les Eyzies and the Vezere valley, are all within a 15 miles from the house.
2 miles away is the picturesque town of St Cyprien, which has a colourful market every Sunday, supermarket, shops and restaurants.
Further details
1 mile away is the famous village of Beynac, with its magnificent fortress Château, voted "one of the prettiest villages of France".

30% deposit with booking. Remainder to be paid 4 weeks before arrival.
Arrivals - Saturday afternoon after 4.00 o’clock, Departures - Saturday morning by 10.00 o’clock.
A cleaning service is available, if required, at a cost of 80 Euros which would be payable locally to our agent. Please advise when booking if you require this service.
