La Poutelais has a private entrance driveway, of about 150 metres flanked by 106 poplar trees, is an impressive sight on arrival. The grounds are surrounded by cornfields and an old cider apple orchard at the entrance. The front lawns and the rear grassed area under the old oak tree are ideal for barbecues and picnics. There is also a boule court, children's swings, badminton, volley ball, swingball,trampoline, and table tennis. Surrounding the granite mill in the central courtyard is the Manor House and the converted barns. The location of La Poutelais makes it an ideal French holiday destination, giving easy access to Dinan, Mt St Michel, Dinard, and Combourg, all very popular tourist attractions in Brittany. Rennes (TGV to Paris and Euro Disney)is 20 minutes away, with its beautiful city of timber framed buildings and large shopping malls. Free Broadband in each cottage.

Fresh bed linen is provided at the beginning of your stay, you will need to provide your own towels and obviously food may be bought locally from the nearby the supermarkets. The 1st floor has 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin both with original exposed beams. There is also the bathroom with bath and shower fitting. |

Due to demand we constructed a communal BBQ area where all the families can BBQ together near the pool and discuss the days events and swap ideas over a glass of wine.
As well as the fenced 11x6 heated pool complete with sun loungers and inflatable toys there is a boule court, badminton, table tennis, and 14ft trampoline.

Beaches, far too many to list - from secluded sandy bays to larger resorts with restaurants, ice creams, sandwiches and activities along the prom, to sporting beaches with surfing, sailing, all within 45 min by car.

La Poutelais is about 3km from Tinténiac, a small village with a variety of shops, museum, zoo, and tourist office. The Rance Canal is also about 3km, running from the narrowing of the Rance River at Dinan and onto Rennes. Its eleven locks raise the canal up the steep slopes of the foothills in an amazingly short distance of about 3km, offering many delightful picnic areas along its banks. Hédé only a 3km distance, is a delightful small village approached through the forest of St Brieuc des Iffs. Three restaurants on its outskirts, The Vieux Moulin, The Genty Home and The Vieille Auberge beside the lake, offer traditional cuisine. There is also a pizzeria which is a favourite with ourselves and our guests serving probably the best pizzas outside Italy.
Whether touring, sporting or just enjoying the tranquillity of the peaceful surroundings, La Poutelais offers an unequalled opportunity to enjoy the charm and tranquillity of rural Brittany.
Delightful tourist attractions nearby include Mont St Michel, Concale, St Malo, the Rance Estuary, Dinard and Dinan which are all within 40 minutes drive. La Poutelais is overlooked by the chateau de Montmuran. The chateaux in Combourg, Vitré, Fougères, Bourbansais and Caradeuc are in the immediate vicinity, with the Loire Valley less than 2 hour's drive south.
The beaches along the coastline, known as the Emerald Coast, offer full amenities in prestigious seaside resorts such as St Brieuc, St Malo and Concale, to name but a few. Many of these fine sandy beaches are flanked by rocks which provide shelter when the sea is running high and all have a full range of facilities, including hire services. Riding school and hire nearby (2 km) at Le Besnelais between Tinténiac and Hédé. Tennis, football, basketball and swimming pool in Combourg. Golf with excellent facilities at Le Tronchet. Cycling can be enjoyed along the many, mainly flat historic and picturesque routes in the area.

A most enjoyable holiday was had by all. The setting was peaceful, the accommodation very comfortable. The personable touch provided by Catherine, Mike and Lucie helped to make us feel very much at home in our cottage. The facilities on site are excellent with boules and badminton being a favourite with our family as well, of course as the infamous barbecue. It was especially useful having the washing machine on hand. We have been to France several times and to date this has been our best experience of French/English hospitality. Mike and Catherine have succeeded in making la Poutelais a home from home for their visitors. We wish them every success in the future for.

The setting is lovely, the garden and courtyard are great for kids, the cottages are lovely. You and your family are very friendly and eager to help. With young kids it was great to feel that they were safe and could explore the grounds.
