Situated in the small village of Vicq-sur-Gartempe within the Vienne countryside. “La Petite Maison” offers the discerning traveller peace and tranquillity within easy access of the cities of Poitiers, Tours and Chateauroux and the excitement of Futurescope. The cottage, built around 1830 has been sympathetically renovated to enhance the traditional stone walls and beamed ceilings. It comprises of lounge, fitted kitchen/diner, 1 twinned bedroom on the ground floor and 1 double bedroom (with kingsized bed) and bathroom on the first floor. There is an attractive covered patio area for lazy sunny afternoons, which is also sufficiently secluded to afford al fresco eating. Within the area you will find facilities for walking, cycling, golfing, angling, canoeing, birdwatching, swimming and generally relaxing.

Changeover day
The cottage will normally be available from 4.00pm on Saturday and must be vacated by 10.00am Saturday. However, midweek bookings will be considered by prior arrangement.

| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 is upstairs and has a king size bed. Bedroom 2 is on the ground floor with twin singles. |
| Bathrooms: | The modern bathroom is upstairs and has a bath with shower over, wc and wash hand basin. |
| Kitchen: | The fully fitted kitchen/diner includes gas hob and oven, microwave/grill, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. |
| Living Rooms: | The well presented and cosy living room offers freeview satellite TV, CD/DVD player and a log burner. |
| Other: | Store room. Situated off the courtyard is the store room which houses garden furniture, BBQ and clothes drying facilities with iron and ironing board. |

Towels and bed linen are included and a change will be provided weekly. |

This is a no-smoking property. Dogs welcomed by prior arrangement.
Accessibility
Unfortunately, the cottage is unsuitable for people with limited mobility.
Outside
There is an attractive covered patio area with gravelled courtyard for lazy sunny afternoons, which is sufficiently secluded to afford al fresco eating.
Coast/Beach
The beach resorts of La Rochelle and Les Sables d'Olonne are a good drive away. Alternatively, beach-style freshwater swimming is available at la Puye, la Bussiere and la Roche-Posay.
Golf
A popular and inexpensive 18 golf course is situated in la Roche-Posay approximately 5 miles from the cottage.
Travel
The following airports are nearby, Poitiers (35 miles), Tours (50 miles) and Limoges (70 miles). The various ferry ports are - Caen (220 miles), le Havre (270 miles), Boulogne (385 miles) and Calais (400 miles). The use of a vehicle is advantageous in order to explore the delights of this pretty region.

Nearby places of interest are: Angles-sur-l'Anglin (4 miles), la Roche-Posay (5 miles), Chauvigny (12 miles), Saint Savin (15 miles), Poitiers & Futurescope (30 miles), Tours (50 miles), the wine producing area of the Loire Valley (55 miles), Cognac (140 miles).
Further details
Typically, there are a number of small local towns where traditional French markets are held every week. A list of these can be found in the Information Folder in the cottage. Local produce can also be obtained from the larger supermarket 5 miles away, as can the usual delights such as fresh fish, meats and vegetables and of course wines and spirits. There are a number of bistros, snack bars and restaurants within easy reach, providing for all tastes.
If you are contemplating visiting Paris whilst staying here, a day-trip is easily done. We catch the 06:54 from CHÂTELLERAULT which arrives at PARIS MONTPARNASSE at 08:15 in plenty of time for coffee and croissants before hitting the sights. The return we used is at 18:50 and arrives at 20:15. Parking for the day at Châtellerault station is around €5.40 and the cost of a return ticket, if booked at least a month in advance for travel on weekdays, is around €41 for an adult!

Booking notes
Contact us to confirm that your required dates are available then a deposit of £50 is required to confirm your booking. The balance must be paid 6 weeks prior to your stay. A fully refundable breakages fee of £50 is also required, returned following your vacation of the property assuming no damage or breakages have occurred. For your peace of mind it is worth noting that the owners Denise and Chris live just seven miles away from the cottage.
