Located between the medievel town of Pezenas and the lively Cap d'Agde, Montblanc is nestled amid acres of vineyards with stunning views toward the mountains of the Haut Languedoc. Built in 1840, La Maison Rose is a former 'Maison de Maitre' of impressive proportions, complete with its original wine making cave and recently restored as a family home with thoughtfully planned accommodation and facilities for up to 12 guests. With its paved pool area, covered BBQ/dining terrace and spacious oak beamed guest lounge, the accommodation is well appointed for those who simply wish to relax and enjoy the surroundings. For the more adventurous however, the list is both long and varied. Beaches and the Canal du Midi are 20 mins away, the mountains and lakes less than 30 minutes. Walking, cycling, tennis, horse riding and golf are practically on the doorstep, whilst Montpellier, Nimes and Carcassonne offer plenty to explore for day trips.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the accommodation per night in euros for two people. Each suite will accomodate up to 3 supplementary beds. A cot is available for children under 2. We do not charge for this but request that guests bring their own cot bedding

Notes on accommodation
All suites have tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, shaving point and use of guest fridge. Bedlinen and towels are provided. A cot is also available for smaller children.
Second floor accommodation (suites 2 and 3) has been refurbished using modern and highly efficient insulation, keeping them cool in summer and warm in the winter. First floor suite (1) is centrally heated in winter and with ceiling fan to keep cool during warmer periods.
Accommodation is inclusive of breakfast. There are limited facilities available for guests wishing to 'self-cater' for lunch and evening meals. Our optional table d'hote menu is varied and has, as yet, never failed to please! We take great pride in providing good quality, convivial dining at a price which compares favourably with restaurants and can generally cater for all dietary requirements. Guests may reserve on a B&B only, full or half board basis or book our table d'hote at any time with a minimum 24 hours notice.
Accessibility
Largely due to the age of the house, it is not specifically adapted for guests with limited mobility. However, owners will make every effort accommodate any special requests.
Outside
Parking is available on site or immediately outside the property which lies adjacent to a quiet one-way street.
The pool and terrace area are fully paved and enclosed within walled surrounds providing good security. Tables, chairs and loungers are all available for guests. Guests are asked to bring their own swimming towels.
The 4m x 8m swimming pool contains a shallow section to one end with in-built seating and Jacuzzi.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Vias Plage which is 15 minutes (12 miles) by car. Other beaches, including Rochelongue, Cap D'Agde, Valras, Marseillan are all within 20-30 mins drive. All are well equipped and very child friendly. Coastal roads can get very busy in summer but the owners know quite a few short cuts!
Golf
The local 18-hole 72 par golf course is less than 2 miles away and is open all year round. Full details are available on their website 'golfstthomas.com' or contact La Maison Rose for further details.

Special interest holidays
Available from September through March we are able to provide the following courses for groups of between 4 and 12 guests. Minimum stay 2 nights on full or half board basis:
French language: Beginners to internediate french for children (from aged 3) adolescents and adults (note minors must be acompanied by an adult)
Cookery: Tradional french regional cookery specialising in Normandy, Brittany, Rhone Alpes and (of course!) the Languedoc. Inclusive of wine tasting tour.
Painting: For established groups of painters, guided trips by local artist to the best locations in the area.
Travel
Nearest airports include:
Beziers (Vias) - 15 minutes drive (Ryanair and Easyjet).
Montpellier - 40 minutes drive (Ryanair and British Airways).
Perpignan - 1 hour 15 minutes drive (Ryanair, Flybbe and BMI).
Carcassone - 1 hour 15 minutes drive (Ryanair).
Nimes - 1 hour 15 minutes (Ryanair).
By road via the A9 (exit 34 is 5 minutes drive) or A75 (exit Pezenas is 5 minutes drive)
By rail: TGV raillink to Beziers or Montpellier.
Car hire is recommended.
Distances
Nearest main towns include Pezenas (10 minutes) Agde (10 inutes) Beziers (15 minutes) and Clermond l'Herault (20 minutes).
La Maison Rose is 2 minutes walk to the centre of Montblanc with bar, Maurice's very tasty takeaway pizzas, newsagent, bakers, butchers, mini-supermarket, greengrocers and beauty salon. There is also a 3 star campsite and a small market 3 days per week.
Further details
Whatever your taste in leisure activities, one is truly spoilt for choice. As well as the golf course, there is also a children's adventure playground and horse riding stables nearby.
Along the nearby coastal roads there is a wealth of adventure parks such as Aqualand and Luna Park. The ports of Meze, Marseillan, Cap D'Agde and Sete boast some fine restaurants and bars overlooking the Mediterranean.
Towards the mountains and the Regional Park of the Haut Languedoc, there are grottos, lakes, watersports, historic villages. Even for those who prefer the pool or the beaches, this is an area which should be visited. Owners have ample information on recommended routes for walking and cycling.

Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit payable in cash, by cheque drawn in euros, international funds transfer or Paypal.
During high season (July/August) minimum stay is for 3 nights.
Rates are in euros and sterling equivalent is based on tourist exchange rates at time of booking.
